Windows Web Hosting
Whats the difference between Windows web hosting and linux web hosting ..& which one is more better ?
Linux is more secure. That's why the air force, google, and youtube use it.
Linux servers are what government agencies use.

grade one american windows web hosting corporation?
i need to grade one windows web hosting
supported aspx 2 version and mysql
has dedicated ip
has hacker safe certificate or any certificate for example bbb online or geotrust and very important for me 24/7 realy suport by phone or email
and price no problem
aspx and mysql. I'd go with Php and Perl with MySql. ASP is nothing but a security risk. Of course, it would be a Linux system. Anything else is a security risk.
You will save a BOATLOAD of money if you go with uncertified Linux instead of a bogus overbloated, unsafe but certified Windows webhosting. (I can give you several first hand examples of some Windows server hacking that was supposed to be UNHACKABLE).
But I do like the options and responsiveness of Hostway. Just visit http://www.hostway.com Try calling their Tech Support right now, and see if you can TALK to someone.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

Good Windows Web Hosting???
Can anyone recommend any Windows web hosts that offer great features, are reputable, affordable and provide reliable customer service? I plan on building an ecommerce website.
Thanks!
If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months' time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.
I would like to suggest following webhosting which I use, they are excellent.
Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukenden/
They offer hosting of "unlimited domains" and you will get massive webspace of 1500000 MB (1500 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer "a free Domain Name" and installing service called "Fantastico". By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer "Free Website Builder" as well.
Visit the site to check details.

Linux vs. Windows web Hosting, does it make a difference? ?
What are the "real" differences?
If you don't know the difference , then it probably won't matter. Linux supports alot of Ecommerce and content management systems that windows doesn't. There is a thing called "cpanel" that is full of cool features for linux hosting, you can install your website in seconds using cpanel and "Fantastico" which features 1-click install of :
osCommerce
Zen Cart
Cubecart
Joomla
Mambo
Wordpress
and alot of other stuff that windows hosting probably won't support.
look here: http://www.samwilson3d.com
for a list of Linux hosts that have this feature
How many users does Yahoo's Windows web hosting allow for FTP?
500
Deploying from Visual Studio 2008 to web host running Windows 2008 and II7?
Where front page extensions is not supported on Windows 2008 and II7 and I dont have a local IIS installed on my Vista Ultimate machine. My web host helpdesk says that I can deploy to local IIS and then FTP to the server. But dont have IIS.
This is the first time I have tried to deploy so I must be missing something fundamental here.
You can just FTP to the host site - you don't need it on a local server to FTP it, just on a drive you can access (and that drive doesn't even have to be local - you just need access to the files on it).
LINUS VS WINDOWS (Web Hosts)?
Hey all...
I'm looking for a web host. I've noticed that some say "Linux based". I'm wondering what effect this has on me, if any.
Does have website coding have to reflect some kind of change if the system is linux based?
I think for the most part it does not really matter. Sometimes if you are using MS Frontpage to create the web pages then Linux may not support some of the Frontpage features. But other than that it does not make much of a difference. If you do encounter a point where you need to use one or the other for a specific purpose the host service should let you switch over.
