Website Domain Hosting

What is the cheapest website hosting + domain I can get?
I found www.bluehost.com.. and it's $6.95 (or so) a month + free set up and domain if I stay with them for 2 years. I've heard about hosting I could get, though, for about $10 for a year. I would like to have a control panel or something along with it, a domain, etc as well. ?.?

www.godaddy.com for cheap domains http://webhost4life.com/ for cheap hosting. I wouldn't choose bluehost unless you really want to commit for 2 years.

website hosting/domain names?
what is a good domain host (like for a domain name).. i'm thinking of going with godaddy.com unless there's something better what is the best website host, where i can upload my html.. i have no idea what to use for this... thanks so much :)

(1) For domain name registration I recommend http://www.namecheap.com Their standard price is $9.29 but you can use the Promo Code: APRILSHOWERS (this promo code is valid only in april) and get the price down to $8.41. You can still find a cheaper domain registrar but I really recommend Namecheap, they are very easy to use, and have a great user interface. I still have a couple of domains on Godaddy, but I'm gonna move them all to Namecheap. I can't stand the Godaddy's site. As for privacy, most registrars (Namecheap is one of them) have Privacy Protection, which will hide your private info from WHOIS, like your name, address, phone number, email... so no one can actually see who really registered your domain name. (2) For web hosting I recommend http://www.dreamhost.com They are over 10 years in business, have a really great plan 500 GB Disk Space, 5TB Monthly Bandwidth, (more details on http://www.hosttell.com ) and you get one domain name included for free (so you don't even have to use a company like Namecheap for registration if you want to host just one site) but you can host multiple sites on a single account. What this means is that you can create one website using the domain name you get from them for free, and then easily add more websites/domains to the same hosting plan later on. (I host over 20 sites on a single account). The best thing about them is that they are very easy to use and very easy to set up. Their price is $119.40/year ($9.95/month if you pay yearly). Now, there are some cheaper web hosting companies, but you can use the Promo Code: DNA and get the $50.00 discount, which brings the price down to 69.40/year ($5.78/month if you pay yearly) and that makes them even cheaper than the competition. (3) If you want to try Dreamhost but don't feel like paying the whole year of hosting upfront, you can choose to pay monthly. Now, most hosting companies don't even offer monthly payments (because they prefer your money upfront :) ), and those that do, usually charge a huge setup fee to discourage you from going the monthly payment route. Dreamhost is one of them, they charge the $49.95 setup fee, but you can use the Promo Code DNA and get the setup for free. So you can start your web hosting for only $10.95 a month. :) This way is a bit pricier but it has some pro's: No long term contracts, minimum risk, you can cancel at any time, it's the same plan, so you get one month of hosting plus free domain name registration for just $10.95. This is maybe the best way to start with shared web hosting. I hope this helps! :)

School website - whats the best domain/hosting website(s) to visit?
Should we buy the domain and the host from different places? Thanks

You could buy it from different places but most hosts give away a free domain with their hosting plan, so there's no need really. I recommend Dreamhost http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html They are over 11 years in business and they currently host over 600 000 websites, so they're a pretty safe choice, plus you can host multiple domains on a single plan. Their standard price is $9.95/month ($119.40/year) but you can use the promo code PLUS and get $50 discount +2 Free domain names. Disk space: Unlimited Bandwidth: Unlimited 2 Free domain names Unlimited domains and subdomains Price: $5.78/month ($69.40/year)

UK Website hosting and domain name for animal website?
Ive created a website and its all ready to be put on the net, i made it through notepad so it cant actually be viewed yet. I already have my forum made which is already on the web: http://animalparlour.proboards107.com/ Anyway, im looking for somewhere to put it on the web to host it and have a domain name too but cheaply as i cant afford much as im a student. Im in the UK aswell. Can anyone help? thanks.

Since you're from the UK I recommend http://www.hosttell.com/one They are one of the leading European hosting companies (hosting over 500 000 websites), and they currently have a promotion in the UK. They are offering free hosting and a domain (you have to pay the £9.00 setup fee and that's it). Every plan includes Photo Gallery, WebEditor (so you can build a website without knowledge of HTML), Google Adwords coupon (so you can advertise your website on google for free) and a lot more. Check them out.

Website hosting domain question?
Okay, I have a website that I created with freewebs, and I used dot tk as a domain for quite some time. I am ready to update a .com. If I did it through something like GoDaddy, will it replace my old dot tk domain and give it a new .com domain?

Yes. You can manage all that through the Freewebs account control panel.

Best Website Hosting& Domain?
Hi. I'm currently using Bravehost, which gives me a domain& free webhosting for a year for about nine dollars. But I'm really annoyed at the ads. I found out GoDaddy gives me no ads, but then you have to pay for hosting. I want something that: 1. Allows me to upload site from my computer 2. Gives me free or very low webhosting 3. Gives me no ads 4. Not too high of a yearly fee for domain If that's impossible, just give me your best suggestion. Thanks!

Begin with setting up your own webpage as your current internet provider will provide free hosting as discussed below. If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a "homepage" which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And if you use the Netscape browser, the built-in Composer feature is a superior HTML authoring tool which is totally free. You can easily generate a full-blown website as a Homepage. Nevertheless, the "homepage" URL is likely to be "http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscribe... name" and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., "mydomain.com" which allows you to link any registered domain name to "mask" another website. For example, should you type in the "domain name," you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... a homepage URL which will be masked by the domain name. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE. When you acquire a domain name, connect it using a redirection service [as discussed above] and submit/publish the domain name on major search engines/directories in order for Net surfers to find your website. Good luck!

Comcast allows for website hosting. If I purchase a domain and link it, would that be more effective?
Free website, I FTP to comcast. If I get a domain and like the domain the the free website, would that be more effective? And would the web crawlers still work? Thanks

No, search engines have problems with directed domain names. As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name. If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today. One of these services is reachable at: http://bluehost-service.atspace.com . As an experienced webmaster I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. Their service is really great and easy to use. This company also offers "Free Site Builder" that helps you build your web pages without difficulty if you are not skilled in using any website creating program.
