I want to use wordpress on my website, but I need a free webhost that offers it. Do you know of any?

wordpress.com will host your wordpress site for free. If you already have hosting and can create a MySQL database, then you can download wordpress from wordpress.org and install it yourself. If your hosting includes Fantastico, then the install is automated.

Which webhosts offer the best and easiest free website tools?
I'm basically looking for a free website building host site that has cool features without requiring you to have create all sorts of accounts with other sites like wetpaint does in order to use features. Also a site that offers basic webtools that really anyone can figure out who only has a basic understanding of HTML.

Well, with http://blogger.com you can use all it's features and you can drag and drop your widgets around. If you ever wanted to, you could edit the html, but you don't have to know any to use Blogger. With http://weebly.com you have lots of features, even better drag and drop, and no ads (just a "create a free website with weebly" text link at the bottom). You don't need any html knowledge either.

Which are the best and safest webhosts where i can store my files?
I have a huge collection of video clips (not porn or adult in any way).I am looking for a host on internet where i can upload them. Can you tell me any hosts which provide a lot of storage to free users? Safety is my biggest concern.I can't afford to lose my video clips which i have collected by spending a lot of time and money.The host should keep my uploaded files and should not delete them. A lot of the clips are copyright protected

If safety is your major concern, then uploading them to the 'net is a pretty silly idea. Why not just buy an external HDD and store the on that? They're not expensive. WD Mybooks are good and a 500GB MyBook II is only around £60. Why risk your files?

Is there anything I need to know when switching webhosts?
I plan on switching from Routhost to Lunarpages sometime in the next few days. My contract with Routhost isn't up until November 18th. I have to renew my domain the same day. Is it as simple as setting up my account with Lunarpages and renewing my domain with them, and then letting my Routhost acct. expire? Or is there more to it? Thanks!

Looking to identify multiple domain webhosts that are both reliable and affordable.?
In the $3-$8 per month range and have good uptime and customer service ratings. Would like to host multiple domains, possibly as many as 20-30 on the same account. The site will not be incredible involved, some 5 pages, some 1 page, others a blog format. Suggestions welcome on being able to host multiple domains on one hosting account without any additional fees. For those of you recommending hosts, can you fwd sites to reviews of these hosts for uptime and customer service competence / timeliness?

They offer linux and windows hosting and I use their freeware to build my sites. Most importantly, they offer 24/7 phone support, so I can call them any time with questions. Which webhosts provide an image checking sevice to avoid users uploading sick images to your website?


The easy answer is don't let users post directly to the web site. Have the images go through an approval process by moderators of the site before they can be published.

That will let you host 4 Domains? I think Vci.net is the best, Prices are through the roof however

I am making a website and wanted to know the best web host that provide domain names and have good control panel , that are under £75.00 anualy . WIth a MYSQL database on it it will need to have all of the scripting like HTML , PHP , RUBY. ANY IDEAS FOR WEBSHOST IN THE UK?

Definitely STAY AWAY from hosts that offer "unlimited" space/bandwidth like hostgator, lunarpages, hostmonster, etc - those are scams. You will get everything you need at Hostamina.com - I use them, and they actually have good support (unlike the other companies), and have reasonable plans. They also don't oversell their servers, making them more reliable.

Anyone know any free webhosts that support Ruby On Rails and MySQL?


Hi Kevin!, i don't know the answer for you're question but i'd Google it to find out any host that might support you'resoftware. BT Yahoo might support it!
