WebHost Manager DNS editing.?
I have a WebHost Manager account and I want to edit a dns zone so that if a user types in https://mydomain.com that it will automatically resolve to https://www.mydomain.com. I have been battling with my web hosting company for days and they don't seem to understand my question. I have a godaddy ssl certificate for www.mydomain.com and they said I can edit my dns zone to resolve https://mydomain.com to https://www.domain.com.
That is not what the problem is. My domain name resolves to the proper ip address (the server) I am wanting to edit the server to resolve http://domain.com to http://www.domain.com
What you want to do is edit your DNS records. Go to the control panel of Godaddy and point the DNS records to the IP address that you have. This will resolve your problem. Now remember it takes up to 48 hours for all the servers in the world to get it. Call godaddy tech support again and ask them how to point your DNS records. Also if you have a email on the webserver make sure you point your MX records too so your email will work.

Based on my own experiences, I haven't found any "good" free web hosting sites. As far as being ad free, I haven't found any. (That's not to say they don't exist - but free sites have to make their money from somewhere. If not from customers, then advertisers.)

what is a bt client and what is a download manager?
i'm trying to download a series but all i want is one episode but the torrent is available for the whole set..the webhost said i can do this buy using the download manager which means the bt client. what is it?

Whats a good free webhost in terms of speed + easy sign up and use?
Ive tried a few and they always have errors when signing up, i cant upload files without getting errors, i cant edit html files without getting errors, and errors after errors.
Is there a free webhost which allows you to register with ease, is pretty fast, and has a file manager and simple basic html text editor?
Really just something that works, not really bothered about any site builders or WYSIWYG, just something where you can easily upload your html files.
If it can, does anyone know any site which gives you 500mb+ web space and 1gb+ monthly bandwidth, i dont think thats very much to ask?
Please dont go on a free-webhosts list and find anything then post it - i need someone who can give me a site which they have had good experience with.

That means the site does not have anything up. It is registered, and they have associated the domain to a webserver (that happens to run Apache), but have nothing there to display yet.
The solution is get a hold of who owns the site and ask when they will be putting up some content. There is no way to magically make available to you something that is not there.

Looks like the site was modified a couple of days ago so that was probably why. Seems to work ok now.
