What web site host would you recommend for me?
I'm looking at starting an online store, and would like suggestions as to which web site host I should go with. I would prefer a host as inexpensive as possible, as I am just starting out. Please provide links to the host's sites. Thank you. P.S. Please don't include FREE host sites, unless you know of one that is excellent. Also, I want to make sure that as many people as possible can easily find my site, and that it is included in searches for Comic Books Stores.

What can I do to have a Good Web Host and how to make a site with certain objects?
Me and a friend of mine are thinking of making a website together. What would be a good web hosting site with FTP and how would I add features to post pictures or have video hosting? Plus if the web host costs money, reply with a pricing. I'm looking for a cheap service, but decent.

Would you agree to unlimited liability just to host your web site?
I am looking for a web host that has a terms of service agreement that I can live with. Having spent hours reading several dozen agreements from different companies, I have found none acceptable. I will not agree to provide free legal defense to everybody the host ever met for anything that isn't the direct action of me or my agents. I will not agree that the host can change a legal agreement between us without my written agreement to the changes. I will not enter a contract that gives any company or their affiliates the right to spam me (see lunarpages TOS). I will not agree that the host can cancel my service and own the content of my site. I will not agree that the host can charge me $200-$500 for backcharging my credit card. Back charging is one of the few ways available to protect against lack of service or fradulant billing. Are there any web hosting services out there that have reasonable terms? I have checked terms on all the sights recommended so far, and I am very concerned for those of you who have agreed to the TOS on any of those sites. They own you.

I want to add a web form to my web site, which feature does the web host need?
I'm planning to host my own web site with a web form which will generate all submitted information to my e-mail. If I want to add this kind of web form, do I need to concern on web hosting feature?(such as PHP supported or else) Thank you.

Either PHP or PERL will work. Sometimes a web host will mention PERL, but sometimes they don't and just say "your own cgi-bin", with the cgi-bin where you place your own perl scripts. There are a zillion free scripts for doing what you want to do with both php and perl, so you shouldn't have a problem.

Im looking for a good web site host?
I might be looking for a few hours before I find a good website host. Right now i'm using GeoCities Plus and it works great but they do not support ASP. Can anyone recommend me a good site that will let me use ASP.

Which is the best web site host for a new money making website?
I am looking into starting my first website. My main aim is to get as many people visiting my site as possible through search engines such as google. I will be providing a lot of information and will hopefully make money through advertising. I have been recommended www.sitebuilder.com which has an easy to use website builder, page analyser, keyword finder and they make sure to send every page to a major search engine so they will get viewed as often as possible. Now I would go with this company but I'm just a bit dubious because the person who recommended it will probably get a commision if I join. So can anyone recommend a web host that can be used by total beginners, is good value for money and most importantly will ensure I have the most people viewing my site? I am a beginner so would like an all-in-one package+extras. I will search whatever sites are recommended so please don't include a link which will gain you a commision because I won't use it. Thanks

I heartily recommend HostGator. I use them myself for my own sites and sites that I build for clients. However, the choice of a hosting site should not be your only criteria. For the type of site you seem to be looking to build, I would start with the Drupal content management system. Any web hosting service that offers cPanel and Fantastico (an installer) will let you install numerous content management systems with just a few clicks. The most popular these days are Joomla and Drupal. Drupal is a good choice for a large number of reasons (and the one chosen by most of my clients). One reason is the excellent AdSense module to make using Google's ads as painless and effective as possible. Another is the RSS reporting feature. I have literally had Google and Yahoo and Ask spiders crawling my site within hours of posting a new article... with no search engine notification whatsoever.

It would be seriously more worth your time to pay for hosting if you are new at things like MySQL, Apache, PHP, ect.... They would have way more bandwidth and storage space for you to use, as well as FTP and mail accounts and your own domain. If you use Windows... How do I get router password to host a web site on my computer?
I need to get my router's password so I can host a web site using WAMP. I have a Linksys WRK54G router, and need a guide on how to forward the ports and get the passwords.

If your box is in the default settings the username will be admin and the password is password. If it is not, you can perform a reset by using a paperclip and holding in the little reset button for 30 seconds. In the linksys manual I believe it says to hold it in for 30 seconds with the power plugged in, then unplug the power (still holding in the reset switch) for another 30 seconds. Then plug it in and it should be at factory settings again and the above user and pass should work. Once you have logged in it will depend on the firmware version you are using, but you will be able to go into a section that will be called forwarding or port forwarding. There will be boxes that allow you to put in the ports to forward and which IP address on the network you want them to go to. You can then enter in the correct information and save the profile and you are done.

I would suggest setting up a capture page, promoting what your trying to sell, and gain that way, true leads, honesty, and legal!!
