Web Hosting Reseller

What Web Hosting Service do you recommend for a Web Hosting Reseller?
Is it recommended to used shared or dedicated servers? Why?

Hostgator is really the best host as far as reseller/individual plans. I would go with a dedicated server as a reseller , because you have a little more control with the support desk if any issues arise. Check out the link....it'll give you a run down of the plans that they offer.

Is reseller web hosting a good revenue generating business?
How many clients do i need to make atleast $6k per month.

This is probably not a good idea (at all) unless you already have a client-base of people looking for web hosting services or you somehow cater to the industry (and have a reputation). Check out the pricing on eBay for web hosting accounts - I just looked & saw an ad for 3 years of 'unlimited' web hosting for $7.95. Reselling web hosting space is not easy (all support issues go to you until you can hire a proper tech) and it would be really, really difficult to pull a profit (let alone $6,000/month) without a unique selling position and a large, already-established base of people interested in your services. Now - I'm throwing something out here, but you may be able to fast-track your way into the business by an insane offer & excellent services... Setup a contest and give away something like a new car for an active customer at some point down the road. Something like this would likely get an immense amount of press (TV, radio, newspaper, online, etc) & you could bypass the need to advertise as it would be done for you. Obviously there are many different points that you'd need to address so that you didn't come to financial ruin, but it's an idea. This gist of what I'm saying is this: short of already being in the industry, offering a unique twist to what current hosting accounts offer or stepping out on a dangerous limb to get attention - I don't think this is a good idea for a business venture.

who can you trust to buy reseller web hosting accounts?
I been to many places online some offer to little for your money ait.com-lousy service, steals money your atm card godaddy-sucks too hard to do hostgator-good service but get very small space and bandwidth ebay-full of scammers so who can u trust? if i bought a dedicated server can i run it in my home? About to give up these so called good companies just over sell causes your site to crash need reliable, service #1 no matter the plan you pick.

I'm not sure what your question is. Domain names cost from about 10 to 30 US Dollars to register. There are many domain hosting companies, about the only difference is there monthly cost. You must know how to produce your website using HTML, or other scripting such as JAVA and how to upload "FTP" your website onto the server. I Have been using USWDH for some time and that are about 50 US Dollars a year for their hosting service and I have received goos customer service from them. Good luck

What does a (web host)reseller provide to it's customers? A domain or Hosting space or Both?

Typically both, most hosting companies have DNS servers and then after YOU BUY the domain you can point it to their DNS servers, which in turns points to their hosting services. Some hosting companies have domain purchasing, they do this through third party registrars. Personally, I recommend you purchase a domain directly with a brand-name registrar like godaddy.com or networksolutions.com or register.com or any other well established company. The reason is these large organizations are less likely to "disappear" or become unavailable as tends to occur to a lot of low cost hosting companies.. Have control and access to the domain name is the most important thing... you can always get hosting... Good luck

Becoming a Web Hosting Reseller?
1. Has anyone really made money from becoming a webhost and domain reseller?? How much exactly per month and with whom (which host did you become a reseller of) 2. I want to enter and become a web host reseller which Original (First-own) Registrars are OK to deal with? 3. How can I attract people to buy from my reseller site? 4. How do you distinguish if the registrar is a original first-own (a company who is the mother unit) and not a reseller? Is there a list of registrars who are mother units and not resellers themselves? I mean is it possible for a reseller to resell his webhost & domain services to another reseller?

1. Yes many people became rich because of it and others started their own hosting company after a while (I'm one of them) , no one ever can tell you how much you can earn every month because it depends on a lot of stuff like : Packages,Prices,Advertising, support and most important people trust in you . 2. From over 3 years of experience I recommend JagPC for you to start as a reseller then in future you can even get a server from them and start your own hosting company their support will help you in every thing because they are really friendly . Check JagPC reseller program from here : http://www.jaguarpc.com/r.php?a=20183.40 3. That's a long story but you can find some good answers for it in JagPC community forums . 4. There isn't a list of web hosts or resellers in the world because they can't be counted but in most cases a reseller can't provide a reseller host but some companies allow that actually . I wish you the best :)

I need to become a Web Hosting Reseller. Please help me to become a reseller.?

i believe the best way of becoming a good reseller is by offering a good service to your customers. You can supply the basic product, but then so can a lot of others on the net. However, a real major point is keeping the customers that you get. The easiest way to loose good customers is to fail them in support. Many web-host providers simply concentrate on getting large numbers of customers. They do not seem to care whether or not those customers stick with them, or the technical problems that those customers can have. My advice is not to concentrate on large numbers of customers and focus on those that you do get. Not everyone has a great deal of knowledge about the Internet and hosting a web host. Keep your advice simple and straight forward to your customers and you will keep them. There are of course some technical issues in choosing the right reseller hosting pack. It is best to go armed with a series of questions before you host with them. A good site with plenty of advice and lots of useful links is http://resellerhostingadvice.com They have a useful run down list of important questions to ask of a potential reseller hosting company. The key to this, is to think of your customers and help them with their problems and treat them with respect. If you remember this you will always win sooner or later against the bigger concerns.
