Looking for good deals on web hosting. I want PHP, MySQL functionality plus very high Transfer/Bandwidth. I came across one site the other day and forgot what it was. They were offering 1,000GB transfer /month plus had PHP all for $8/month. I thought that was a steal. Any recommendations?

Sounds to me like your talking about domain parking. You basically sign up with a parking program and You get paid X amount if a visitor clicks on the ads on your page. but..
Unless you have a top level domain or a domain with a lot of type in traffic (shoes.com ) you won't make much money at all with parking programs.
You can make more money by creating a site with real content and placing Google ads and other affiliate program links on it.

1.Size of the space that you want to purchase
2. Technology that you shall be using in your web site ex: if you shall be using database, PHP, Java, etc
3. Do you want the site to be secure?
4. Whether you want to host it on Unix or windows
5. How many GB of transfer do you want

I just want to know what would happen if i bought a certain domain name from godaddy.com without choosing one of their web hosting plans. I want to do this to save money but will it still work? Can I host it from my home computer with a basic internet connection? are there any safety concerns associated with this?

I have before, there aren't any banners or anything for the paying plans I don't think. I was happy with them, but it was just a personal page, nothing too fancy or anything.
