I need a new web host. I'm not interested in cheap, fly-by-night companies, but I need a solid hosting company that will provide great tech support for the variety of small websites I will be hosting with them. Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated!

What web host would be best to host my website that sells multiple (100+) music downloads?
I want to offer mps downloads in a niche market. What's a reliable, low-cost host for my site? One with built-in sales features would be great. I might even start it as a blog. It'd be ideal to find a host that would let me shift from a blog to a full-blown Web business.

I recommend Dreamhost http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html Their standard price is $9.95/month ($119.40/year) but you can use the promo code PLUS and get $50 discount +2 Free domain names. Disk space: Unlimited Bandwidth: Unlimited 2 Free domain names Unlimited domains and subdomains Price: $5.78/month ($69.40/year)

Best web host and easiest way to set up a blog on my web host?
I have been wanting to set up a blog online for a really long time. I have looked at a few web hosts (I don't want free hosting, I like having freedom to customize my page completely, which only a paid web host appears to allow), and I can't decide which one is best to use. Also, what is the best way to set up a blog on my web host once I've got one?

I suggest you check My Webbie Hosting. They have PHP installer which you can use to install blogging script in just a single click. Also, the plans are very affordable. The cheapest is only $3.95/month

Should I buy domain from my web host or from separate domain website?
I am planning to get a domain. I have a web hosting service. I would like to know if I should buy one from separate domain site (like Yahoo) or from my web host? What if I change my web host? would I have hard time getting my domain as well if I buy from them? Do they charge a lot for domain, when you change the host?

No it doesnt matter where do you buy your domain name. but yes buying it from your host will save time of transferring it to your host space through nameserver.Else any webhosting server do support domain name parking . Recommended http://www.godaddy.com http://www.hostmonster.com http://www.dreamhost.com hope this helps Cheers:)

If I were to buy my own web host, How can I get 'accounts' so others can sign up?
I'm planning on buying my own web host. Is there a code that will let visitors have their own accounts? Please help! 10 pts to most helpful. (:

I'd suggest keeping it simple and working with a bigger company. http://www.H0STGAT0R.com has a reseller account that allows you to set your own prices, etc starting at $25/ month. You can't beat that, and better yet, you leave them to do the support.

Does anybody know of a good web host that offers really different and unique designs?
I'm a beginner- I want to start a website but am a computer idiot- I need to use those design builders that the web host offers- but I'm not seeing any unique designs- Most designs they offer revolve around themes. My website will not be of just one theme and so I would prefer an abstract design- Any thoughts?

try the demo at incredos.com, could give you an insight into their designs

If I cancel a web host plan will the domain be available to others?
I'm canceling my web host plan, how long after I cancel will the domain be available to others? Will it still last until the expiration date?

It depends on the nature of the "registrar" you are using. Some will "squat" on the domain name, so that after it "expires" (as in, your account expiring), you'll have to pay a premium to get it back from them. If you're with a "real" registrar instead of a proxy, then it will be available as soon as it expires. One quick way to tell? If you're paying less than $30 a year for domain name registration, then it's probably a proxy, and you're under the mercy of their terms of service.

which web host would you recommend a photographer use?
I am a photographer and would like to set up a web site that would allow me to host galleries from weddings in which the customer would need to sign into.

I have several. But one of my favorites is a Yahoo web hosting account. They have a simple way of setting up usernames and passwords very quickly for each of your folders. And that's a valuable tool for anyone wishing to restrict access to photos or artworks. For example, you could place each wedding in it's own individual folder and allow only the participants to view them. Other hosts like Godaddy are troublesome when it comes to passwords. If password protection is of little value to you then Godaddy is very inexpensive.

How DESIGN a website after finding a domain and a web host?
After registering a domain and finding a web host, I am in a big trouble. I don't know how to design my website. Is it a software i need to download or is it a website. Please Help!!!

► I would recommend using NVU editor (www.nvu.com), it's free and wont tie you down to one method of editing. NVU pages can be transferrable to frontpage or dreamweaver html editor SEE http://www.interkeys.com/htmleditor for more info on Premium HTML Editors (WYSIWYG) ► For free hosting, try google pages pages.google.com or yahoo geocities , its sort of free hosting, but you are limited to a subdomain on googlepages & geo has ads on your website - otherwise I would use http://www.interkeys.com/tophosts to get one for a few bucks a month with 500 GIG bandwidth and the rich with features its up to you how developed a site you want and if you want to use your own domain name
