How do I my transfer domain name to another web hosting service?
This depends on whether or not your domain name registrar is the same company as the one supplying the web hosting, and if so, whether or not there are separate areas to manage both accounts.
On GoDaddy.com for example, you can cancel your web hosting account but retain your domain name account. All you have to do then is point the domain name servers to the location provided by your new hosting company. Once THAT'S set, it can take up to 3 days for your site's new location to propagate throughout the web.
Can I transfer my domain name to free web hosting? If so who and how?
I had an account with hostmonster.com but canceled. I still own my domain name but don't know how to go about transfering it to a free hoster.
use www.hostse.com, they provide completely free hosting.
and change you domain name servers to ns1.hostse.com and ns2.hostse.com

I need to be able to take my domain name with me. What do I need to do to this ? The new comany I want to switch too is Omnis Web host. And one more thing is im mad casue I have pre-paid for 2 years hosting on Ipower and now have to switch for poor service. Do I lose my money then ? or can I ask for a refund ?

how can I transfer my domain to yahoo hosting?
It appears that the question period has expired. If you have received an answer that meets your needs, please choose one of those as a 'best answer.' If you haven't received a good answer for your question, you may want to consider the following,
1) Re-post your question. Newer questions get more activity on Yahoo! Answers than old ones.
2) If you do re-post your question, consider why it wasn't answered the first time. Could it be more specific? Could it be worded better? Were there grammatical or spelling errors? Was it in the best category?
If it doesn't seem likely that re-posting your question will help you, then here's a listing of my favorite 'answer sites'. Maybe one of them will help you.

I need to transfer my domain name to another hosting company!?
I am currently with tripod.com web hosting and would like to switch. I NEED AN E-COMMERANCE (shopping) HOSTING PLAN. I wanted to spend about $15.00 a month and have about 1,000 products to upload to the site. Is their anything out their that will give me what I want? I WAS LOOKING AT NETFIRMS.COM AND THEY SEEM OK. DO I GO WITH THEM?
Try either godaddy.com or cutehost.net
I used them both
Domain Transfer?? Free Host??
I registered a domain with www.directdomainreg.com and discovered that i need to transfer it?? Is there a free host that I can transfer my domain to?? I don't know much about what I am doing. Would you recommend any hosts that include a domain for a small charge?? Thanks.
To host your site for free, I would highly recommend the following 2 sites.
Awardspace -> http://www.awardspace.com
50webs -> http://www.50webs.com
Both of these sites allow you to host for free and does not have any advertisement pop ups like those provided by geocities.
I have sites hosted on both the companies. Example
Awardspace -> http://www.wanginternet.com
50webs -> http://cctvcamera.50webs.com
Also, read a review I wrote on Awardspace at http://www.wanginternet.com/free-web-hosting-with-no-advertising.htm
Hope it helps, feel free to ask me for any additional help required.
Help! Hosting company won't return calls or emails requesting domain transfer!?
I have a website with wowbb.com, a forum software with optional hosting and they won't return my calls or emails (par for the course, these guys are HORRRIBLE!), but in order to transfer my domain, I need an authorization code from them.
Does anyone know what I can do? I'm at my wits end.
Also, given how much time I've wasted with these jokers, can someone please tell me what org my complaints would be best served with? Just trying to deal with them has thrown me over the edge.
Side-note: They closed their support forums last week, filled with complaints cause no one could reach anyone. They even have other "franchise sites", wowultra and classicwow...all claiming to be entirely separate, but I suspect otherwise. Alot of the moderators at wowbb are the mods at wowultra -brand new release. And those same mods are all over forum hosting boards like adminfusion.com and theadminzone.com pretending to be "customers" who LOVE wowultra and all its features. I don't get it.
That's what I'm trying to do....switch hosting company's, but wowbb won't communicate, and I'm trying to find out if anyone has some helpful tips for this situation to help transfer my domain. Or if there's some authority out there that can help extract the authorization code from them...or if there's anything else I can do?
They did it!! They actually sent me the code! I am totally surprised! Seriously, 6 months of request after request for one simple thing, upload my database, and those guys never got it done, and worse, they pacified me with questions I had already answered. STRESSSSSFUL! Thanks for the offers guys, but I already had an account somewhere else, was just trying to transfer it. Appreciate the answers!
wowbb is not a reliable webhosting, since its not picking up your call nor email, you should better switch over your webhost....i am using bluehost webhosting, since its fast and reliable and also have live chat option on the front page of their website
