How can I embed a wav file into an https (SSL) Yahoo-hosted web page?
The wav file will play if it is not secure, but then the secure/non-secure message is displayed. I want the wav file and the web site published via https SSL. Thank you.

Just put the WAV file on the secure part of your site.

what is SSL?is this important to have it when u order web hosting?

SSL is Secure Socket Layer which has been suceeded by TLS (Transport Layer Security), but most people still just call it SSL. It is a protocol for securely transfering data across networks, and, quite conveniently, is almost entirely transparent to the end user. Even for most web developers, there is little extra effort required to use it. Whether you need it or not when you order web hosting depends on the needs of the website. If there is a need to securely browse the website - say for inputting financial information - then it's best to have it. FYI, to determine whether or not the site your browsing is over SSL, you'll see the website as https:// instead of http:// in the location bar.

I bought a domain from yahoo. The company whose hosting my domain needs SSL certificates. How do i do this.?

SSL or Secured Sockets Layer is a protocol that transmits your communications over the Internet in an encrypted form. SSL ensures that the information is sent unchanged only to the server you intended to send it to. Online shopping sites frequently use SSL technology to safeguard your credit card information Yahoo! gives you the option of encrypting your sign-in information by using "secure mode." When you sign in using secure mode, you are using industry-standard SSL encryption technology to protect the data you transmit. While secure mode provides SSL encryption, pages will take longer to download. Most users choose to sign in using standard mode to achieve quicker response time. The default mode is standard. If you would like to sign in using secure mode, click the "Secure" link directly below the sign-in button. To switch from secure to standard mode, simply sign out of your account. After you have signed out, you will be taken to a sign-in screen where you can sign in through standard mode. Currently we do not offer the option to sign in securely as a default. If you receive browser warnings when going from secure mode pages to non-SSL Yahoo! sites, it is most likely a warning that you are switching servers. Please note that only your sign-in information (Yahoo! ID and password) will be transmitted on a Yahoo! SSL server. Other actions performed within Yahoo! Mail will not be conducted on a Yahoo! SSL server. Secure mode is not supported by all browsers. You may need to download the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator or upgrade your browser to take advantage of secure sign-in. Even if you are using the current version of your web browser, you may need to adjust your security settings. Check your web browser's help pages for instructions.

how can i create a php web proxy or a ssl one in a free web hosting server to bypass internet filtering.?

You can scrape pages with php fairly simply -- the better approach is probably to set up an SSH tunnel so that your trafic is encrypted between your terminal and the proxy computer. With PHP, you'll want to look at the cURL libraries.

Can you use a SSL certificate for two websites at once?
I have one SSL certificate and two different websites hosted on two different servers and would like to use the same SSL certificate for both if possible. Would this cause any security problems if it is possible? The servers are part of the same domain. Thanks!

If it's the same domain then it should work fine. The only problem woud lbe if they were different domains, because the oen thats not right would get a message that pop ups every time you try to connect using it, and people would think your site is bad.

Can a SSL certification be scammed by the host who provides it?
If I have my web site host put a SSL certification on my web site, can they still scam, pharm or phish my site with me not knowing

all is possible, but this will make it much harder. good luck.

What is the best web hosting for oscommerce?
I am currently using Yahoo as my webhosting, but I want a less restrictive host. Anyone with experience please. I am specifically looking to have full use of SSL, and .htaccess files I am looking for the most compatable webhost for OsCommerce. Not the best.

You can check out the web hosting services of http://www.cidhosting.net. They offer oscommerce hosting as well as other opensource programs. For SSL, they can set it up for you as well as provide full access to the .htaccess files

Can anyone recommend a web hosting company that supports osCommerce?
So I need a Linux account and for my SSL to be on the same server as my web domain. Any help appreciated. Can you answer if you know for a fact that it works please, perhaps if you are already running oscommerce from it, as my hosting company supports php but other issues that i have mentioned prevent it from working. Thanks
