How can i find out the POP3 and SMTP server information for an email, if i dont know any other details?
How can i find out the POP3 and SMTP server information for an email, if i dont know any other details?
You should look up the site that the info comes from. If it was spit@yermom.com then you should look up the information for yermom.com. If you want the header information you should be able to turn on the option in your mail client that allows you to see the message headers. That's in your options panel.
How do I find out what my SMTP server is?
I'm trying to set up a .Mac account, and when I tried to send an email it told me I had the wrong SMTP server. I know how to change which outgoing server I want to use, but I don't actually know what my server is. Is it determined by my Internet connection? I get it through Comcast, and I have an AirPort Extreme router...so how do I find out exactly what it is?
smtp.comcast.net
See http://help.comcast.net/#98630721-2e3a-447f-835c-3ed6466792d4 for some details. That's actually for a Mac desktop client, but it's the same info, really.
Does a home pc already have an smtp server installed or should it be installed explicitly?
How to configure smtp server?? is it preinstalled on all home pcs or do we have to install it explicitly?
SMTP is a protocol used for sending email. There is nothing to install on your local machine.
By "configuring smtp server" I assume you are asking how to set up your email software, ie. Outlook Express, Windows Mail or Thunderbird?
The settings are simply addresses for your ISP's email servers. This information is used by your email program so it knows where to connect in order to send/receive your email.
You need to ask your Internet Service Provider(ISP) for their SMTP settings. They are different for each company. Often you can find them on your ISP's web site.
Here are some sample settings from various ISP's...
smtp.aol.com
smtp-server.tampabay.rr.com
smtp.telus.net
How do I locate my dedicated SMTP server information?
I am trying to set up a GroupMail account and they are asking for my SMTP server information. Anyone know how I find this out or do I need to get this info direct from Yahoo!? I would prefer not to have to upgrade my free account at this time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

How do I use a remote smtp server in outlook?
I need to use 2 smtp servers with outlook. One for company business and one for my personal e-mail. My company recently got classafied as a spammer by yahoo, and a few others. I can't send company e-mail to friends who e-mail me to my personal account in another domain. I can only send thru the company domain. I want to send thru eather.
If you are not part of the "smtp club" - like your job or ISP - then you need to find an Open SMTP Relay. Due to SPAM, finding an open relay is very difficult. Otherwise, wait for Yahoo to declassify you site as a SPAM producers.

Does anyone know what the Pop3 server and the smtp server address is for Yahoo mail?
I am trying to set up an automatic delivery system for my work invoices and estimates, and I need the Yahoo mail server addresses for the Pop 3 and Smtp, does anyone know these offhand?
From the HELP page:
"The ability to access Yahoo! Mail via a POP3 email client (such as Outlook or Outlook Express) is only available to customers of our premium Yahoo! Mail Plus service."
That said, check this link for how to do it:

What are the incoming POP3 and outgoing SMTP server names so that I can integrate with ACT/Outlook?
I'd like to use the E-mail features of ACT!, which requires integrating with Outlook in my case. In configuring Outlook, it asks for the incoming POP3 and outgoing SMTP server names. I don't know how to determine this.
Thanks.
Look on your ISP's website. It is found there. Typically under email FAQ's
