Shared Ssl Server
Problem with ISA Server 2004?
I am new in ISA Server , I can share internet all around my network but I have problem with MS Outlook 2003 and I couldn't use it on the clients.
The error is : the SSL or your ports problem
What is wrong.
Please advise me in details.
Thanks in advance
A. K.
i think u must include the protocols of POP3 and other of outlook connection protocols in the allowed protocols for the clients, go to the protocols allowed configuration and add them
how does geotrust java script work keeping ssl on other sites?
The SSL provider offers among other things a SSL with a couple layers of authentication for its customers, they are asked to place a javascript on their site for a small verified image to be visual security verification...
My question is about the javascript ... being secure across all the websites .. How? using some code can this be tested to display a image from 1 seperate server onto another using both SSL certificates, and no browser warnings from the cross site sharing of a image on a webpage???
I'm not all that familiar with SSL, but I am familiar with its protocol.
As long as the javascript source is from an site that begins with https:// or is a relative path on a secure page, the javascript source code will be transmitted securly. If the code is executed to retrieve an image which is not on a secure site, the browser should display a warning... but it may not, I'm not sure. I'd have to play with it to find out.
Unless you're hosting the images yourself, I can't imagine how you could rig it up so those images would be transmitted securely.
Why is Outlook Express telling me that I'm sending spam?
I've been trying to send out an email via Outlook Express.
It's kind of long, but there are no strange characters and it's coherent text. Then there is one image. (It's a story about my grandmother that passed away this week that I wanted to share with my family.)
When I try to send the message, I get the following error:
An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Fwd: Mom Marian', Account: 'xxxx', Server: 'xxxx', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 Sorry, this message appears to be spam (#5.6.0)', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC6F
This happens even if I only try to send the message to myself.
How can I fix this problem?
This appears to be a spam filter on outgoing e-mails through who-ever is providing your e-mail service. Effectively you e-mail falls into the rules by which the provider feels identifies spam.
What is happening is that Outlook Express is sending the e-mail to the server for forwarding, and the server is refusing to send the e-mail. This is nothing to do with Outlook Express and is caused by your e-mail provider.
Your best bet is to contact their custom server and explain what you are doing and ask what you need to do in order not to be incorrectly caught by their spam filter.
One way may be to compose the e-mail in a word processor that all receipients will be able to view documents from (say Word Pad if you are all using Windows computers), and save that message. Then attach the file to your e-mail and explain in the message that you have attached the message in a Word Pad document. This will also make it much easier for people to print the message if they want to.
I tend to do this when sending out messages to family (using MS Word as we all run either Office or in a couple of instances Work Suite). It works quite well, and for those people using web mail (such as Hotmail or Googlemail) it means they can print the message without all the rest of the rubbish you get if you use a web mail's 'Print this Page' option.
Good luck.
Any way I might get yahoo to fix things so I can send mail, or do I give up my account?
All members of my family have had a yahoo accounts for years. Months back, when nothing else had changed, we had intermittent but lengthy periods of time when we were not able to send mail using our yahoo accounts from our shared pc, neither via outlook express, nor directly from the yahoo mail site.
I contacted yahoo, and got sent stuff to try, but nothing changed, so we all continued by using alternative accounts when the yahoo accounts weren't working.
The problem is back. We can each use our alternative accounts to send AND receive mail, and can all receive mail on our yahoo accounts - but often, we can't send from our yahoo accounts.
We get this message from OE:
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Melanie - Yahoo', Server: 'smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
and a spurious message from yahoo mail about using a wrong address, when it is quite correct.
Last time, it went on intermittently for months before it finally seemed to remedy itself. After a month or so, the problem is back.
Anything we can do about it, or must we just put up with it? We are reluctant to make long term changes to our email addresses, but this is becoming a pain.
Thanks for any info.
This is clearly failure of the local yahoo servers. To contact Yahoo click on Help and the Contact Us then Customer Care. This page gives several ways to contact Yahoo and I assume a telephone number in the UK (what I see is a number in the US). Be prepared to show them the type of message you provided in your question.
At the same time, you might find that you get much improved performance if you update your browser. With IE click on Tools and then Windows Update. This should bring in the new Java, Flash Player and other plugins that really are essential for this. I also might recommend Firefox at www.firefox.com. Make sure you get all the plugins.
Need help networking a printer to a Domain Controller off its network.?
We have a Domain Controller here in our office that is used to connect users at remote locations to our billing software server. At one of our clinics the PC's are on the local Hospital's network. I need to add their printer on their network to our Domain Controller, so that when I make a VPN from each PC to our network I can add the printer to their TS Sessions.
I have tried setting the printer up using the add printer wizard and entering the printers IP address, but it cant detect a printer, I have to choose the type of network card it has, and once installed it says the printer is offline.
I cannot set up a VPN on their network at this time, and they use a SSL-VPN connection now, and the connection is terrible and the printers are somehow shared through a particular PC( I wasnt with the company) . When the SSL connection is broken, even for a short time, the printer is lost and takes about 30 min to show back up on network. Im not sure what else to do! Please give me suggestions!
The printer does have its own IP address, which is how I tried to connect to it. but the way it is set up now, it seems to be shared through a PC. Thanks for the reply.
You said that the printers are shared through a PC. That would be the reason that you are unable to address directly via an IP address. What you will probably have to do is to establish a trust relationship between your domain and the hospitals domain that will allow your domains to use shared resources. The you will need to add the printer to your domain controller by addressing it using the \\server\share method. This will require coordination between yourself and the hospitals IT staff to determine what trust and sharing requirements are needed.
The link below covers trust relationships between domains. I hope this helps.
SmitFraud Virus and I cant get into my control panel?
I had SmitFraud virus a couple of months ago. I have since been able to get rid of the pop-ups, but not access my control panel. This is very annoying and a problem. Here is my hijack this file:

I had smitfraud virus.
I have SuperAntispyware Free edition and it took care of the problem. I have spybot - search and destroy free version and it detected it too and remove it. So if you can install either one it should take care of your problem.

that's amazing , you answered my question before I asked it. Are you a psychic.
How do I bypass my ISPs security? They block programs from using the internet. ?
Here is my situation: I live in a dorm that only gets one type if internet. They block all sorts of networking ports and SMTP traffic. For example you cannot use any type of file sharing program because all those ports are blocked.
My friend has internet access across town that is un restricted. How can I set up a VPN or use his internet access from my house as a proxy server? I basically need to know how to forward all of my information to him and he forwards it to the internet. the internet forwards it to him and he forwards it to me. Im thinking that all my data will have to be sent over a single port so it wont get blocked. I dont care if it slow, just as long as it works. Web surfing is not the problem. Port 80 is not blocked by my ISP. I want to use programs like bittorent and mIRC and limewire but my ISP blocks those from running. Or if they detect them running I will get banned.
Is there a program that does this? do I have to set up my router a special way? I would prefer to do this as a SSL connection so my dorm ISP cannot tell what im doing.
Thanks
try using Tor

I basically need to know how to forward all of my information to him and he forwards it to the internet. the internet forwards it to him and he forwards it to me. Im thinking that all my data will have to be sent over a single port so it wont get blocked. I dont care if it slow, just as long as it works.
Is there a program that does this? do I have to set up my router a special way? I would prefer to do this as a SSL connection so my dorm ISP cannot tell what im doing.
Thanks
Web surfing is not the problem. Port 80 is not blocked by my ISP. I want to use programs like bittorent and mIRC and limewire but my ISP blocks those from running. Or if they detect them running I will get banned.
You would have to set up a tunnel for your bittorrent traffic to go through.
