Sever Weather

How can I make someone believe that i am a sever weather spotter?
I am 15 years old and i am a ham radio operator and a trained severe weather spotter but when they train you they dont give you any certificate and some people don't beleive that i am a spotter but i have gone to a class for 2 years now.

Many spotter training courses will give out certificate of training or certificate of completion for those who attend and complete their training requirements. If you did not get a certificate, I would write or call up the contact person that is in charge of your training program. Ask for a letter of completion or a certificate of completion. I am sure they will be happy to give you one.

Why does sever weather ALWAYS happen...?
...on the weekends, at 6:00PM?

and on all the other days, it's at 4:00 pm -- like now.

does Reno Nevada get any tornadoes? sever weather?

Nope, we don't get tornados. We don't really get any severe weather at all. It rains a little here and there, and it snows quite a bit in the winter months. The worst thing that happens here is lightning storms, which ignite all of the brush and cause wildfires. Very unpleasant.

Why do you think Firefox consideres a Frost Advisory as Sever Weather???
Here you be the judge: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b238/sr111/lolwut1.png vs: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b238/sr111/lolwut2.png

frost is pretty much one step away from ice and can b just as dangerous as ice when ur not careful i kno here, frost and fog is considered as a severe weather warning

is a sever climate change bad for a parakeet? say from 100 degree weather to 40 degrees and snow?
I am moving that is why I ask not just being mean to my bird

Ohh y god it is bad, parrots, and toucans in particular cannot handled much more than a 20 degree temperture change in a 24 hour period, and a small bird like a parakeet cant handle it, its body isnt designed to handle extreme cold, its body design allows it to stay cool when its hot. My friend left his parakeet outside in 30 degree weather for 10 minutes and he died You can e-mail me for more info at fatwhale90@yahoo.com I hope this helps Best Of Luck Joe

Why is Scotland always passed over when it comes to the weather.?....?
I am english and i live in scotland.....I have noticed over the last few years a difference in the weather.....When i watch the weather on the news Scotland gets a quick fly by and then it goes backj to england.....Why is this, does scotland not have weather......They are talking about the sever weather in england at the moment , do you not realise that we get weather like that most years, it disrupts schools, roads...We live in the highlands...But why do they ibnsist on leaving us out...We are here.....We do exist....Give me some insight please.........

Well I'm Scottish but live in England and i agree with you but i have to say it happens with more than just the weather. You just need to watch Scottish news instead they will give you a fuller picture. Well as for the "sever weather" in England at the moment what a joke we had on day of snow and the whole of the southeast came to a standstill. I know exactly what your saying and agree with you fully, simply the reason is England does not care they do the same to Wales and northern Ireland for the weather too. You'll just have to poke up with it I'm afraid they are never going to change, sad but true. Anything north of the border might as well be Alaska for all they care.

What is a strong cut off low effect?
What is a strong cut of low? If the weather is mild can it cause sever weather in November?

A cut off low is an upper level low pressure system that resulted from a trough, and was displaced equatorward away from the general West to East flow of the upper level winds. When the system is termed as 'strong', then that implies a well developed and intensified system that will likely last for days. Its unlikely to cause severe weather, though. Severe weather is generally a result of steep temperature and humidity gradients. I usually see severe weather when a strong cold front moves through with the addition of a dry line. I hope this helps.

Do you think this weather will cause a Snow Day Tomorrow?
Yeah so most people love snow days because of no school.. and I am one of those. Lol Anyway, do you think this will cause a snowday? This is all for Friday [tomorrow] TOMORROW: WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FOR DETROIT AND ALL OF SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON TO LATE SATURDAY NIGHT. Friday: Cloudy and mostly dry. Highs 26 to 30. Friday Night: Snow develops. Lows 13 to 17. School starts for me at 8:00 AM, but the storm starts in the afternoon. Some people say the roads are terrible right now, but thats in Michigan [close to Detroit & Macomb County] Macomb County is also under the Sever Weather status. [www.clickondetroit.com] Thanks :)

What are the signs of severe weather/tornado?
there is a sever thunderstorm wrningh were I am and I wanna stay safe from tornados. What are thge signs that tell you a tornadoe is coming. It is 4:38 pm, Wednesday,May,2007,St.paul park so you guys can check on weather.com , HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME, BYE!!!!

They are several signs of a tornado. Before a tornado form they produce what is called a funnel cloud. A funnel cloud is a cloud that hangs from the storm before a tornado is formed. That is one sign but here are the other signs that show a tornado may form: •Sometimes a light color green sky may appear •Funnel cloud •Large hail bigger than 1 inch •Strong southwest to south winds around 20 to 30 mph •Cloud structure. Look for rings around the cloud called striations. This is an indication the storm has rotation and a tornado might just happen.
