hey im running a game server and need a forum style website with current scores of games, pay to build? any1?
I already have a domain, and i ordererd webhosting on yahoo, im all set i think i just need the website built, i have macromedia dreamweaver 8, yahoo website builder, and nvu, but i just dont have the time or knowledge of this stuff lol any takers? i am willing to pay for someones time if they can help me get a killer site up, i am looking for a site something like the one at vulcansforge-online.net. Any takers? and if so how much would i be looking at to pay someone to do some work like this?

I am running a 64-bit Vista Ultimate computer. I am running a game server off of it. Will i need 8gb of RAM?

how to download server into ran online game?
hi...i play ran online game malaysia and there only have 1 sever.....i want to download a server into the game..how?

I advice you for not download anything from that game to your own computer. This online game do have viruses. I let my brother using the house computer to play this game, it ended with my msn was hacked by a fool, and my own myspace was edited by someone else. That computer got too must viruses and spyware because of this game. I will never ever go to touch that PC any more. *to play this game: turn off the firewall and turn off antivirus program. (I just wanna help you, if firewall and antivirus were turn off, your PC might be at high risk. Maybe you can check out another online game or you can play this game in cafe)

is it possible to play a game remotely located on a server using the servers computing resources?
online games usually load on to the players ram and use the players processor and may only transmit(once fully running)only few bits of imformation , such as player score\move. but is it possible for the game to run on a entirely different computer(server) and users just get the video feed using the internet and commands from keyboard and mouse are fed back to the server. If so what would be the minimum internet speed required to run such a service

My basic problem with this is two-fold. 1. The server could not handle the processing for too many users unless it's a very very basic game. But whatever the server did, there would always be a lag between what's happening in the game, and what's actually showing up on your screen. The fact that the server would have to send, essentially, streaming video of what it's rendering would jack up the processing power in itself. So bottom-line, with today's technology it is not possible unless an extremely large amount of money is put into a system.

Running a pc 24/7 as an MMO server?
I am creating an MMORPG but I need a computer to run the server on Can I run my laptop 24/7 with one restart a week without wreking it or are the free mmo game servers to use on the internet

You would be better off purchasing a cheap PC to run as a server ... A laptop may be able to act as a server but I wouldn't recommend it. Laptops weren't built to remain on 24/7/365.

are private game servers legal? if not why are they still out there?
is that considered copyright infringement? or the game companies doesn't care because it costs a lot or money (i think) to sue or even find the people running the servers. and it's one way of promoting their game? OR those private servers pay some amount for the rights to run the game. (i doubt it licenses are expensive).

it is a game... i honestly dont think they care that much, as long as thier regular servers are active, its not like its gonna cost the world a junk load of$ to have servers uninterupted by millions of people that annoy them

How can an average person create and market a video game?
I want to make a MMORPG, and i have the ideas all written out. however, I do not know how to program, I'd have to hire a company, right? And can I just buy existing graphics or physics engines or something? how much would it cost? How would I get servers to run the game? Thanks

its pretty hard, u can use flash program, or java script, or a visual basic program, how ever u have to publish it and it wont be so exiting, anyways if it is really good, u have to make ur own company there is no such thing when u go to a company and ask them to do iot for u, u have to cover the prices, any way if u want a game like generals, counterstrike, halflife, sime, etc.... those programs wont work. if ur idea is so facinating u can give it to ea games and ask them if they will publish it but it is unlikley,
