I currently utilize version 2.0.0.4 of Thunderbird

If you have advanced yahoo e-mail services, those settings would appear in the OPTIONS setting section. But if you are using FREE yahoo e-mail services, you cannot use pop3 settings.

You can't use a program like outlook to check your yahoo mail. You must use Yahoo's web site to do so. If that doesn't help, can you give more details about what you are trying to do? Your question is not that clear. Sounds like you are trying to setup a program for checking your yahoo mail, which can't be done.

Yahoo mail is html mail , better known as "web based". you can have your account converted to POP mail , but that option is not included in the free yahoo services.
If the root of your question is getting an email client such as outlook to open your yahoo mail, its not avaliable for free.
