How can i publish my website on web with Plesk Control Panel, I have a paid hosting plan.?


ahhh.. I was outta mind yesterday when I wrote of announcing your web on internet .. to publish your web on the internet .. there are so many ways.. 1. use plesk's own file manager to upload your files. 2. if you are developoing your site in front page, ask your admins if you are allowed to use front page extension .. it would make lot easier for you to publish your web site. 3. all major tools including front page also allow you to put your ftp details and publish your website to the server. you would need your ftp servername, username, and password .. remember that you need to upload to httpdocs folders .. if you need to put secure pages .. docs over ssl layer upload those files to httpsdocs folders. 4. use any ftp clients like filezilla, cute ftp , wsftp to upload your sites to the above mentioned folders. 5. if you don't have any ftp tools, use your browser with a url like this ftp://yoursitename.com, it would ask you for ftp username and password. you can simply copy your files from your hard disk to that windows just like you do it from one folder to another. if any database is attached you can manage it from your plesk admin panel. you will have to setup database, user and import the database schema. Plesk uses phpmyadmin .. just click on the Database button in your plesk admin panel. hope this helps

I work for a hosting company I want to learn LINUX. Currently I am a chat tech for this hosting company and I want to move up to administrator. So, I also want to learn more how to fix things in cpanel as well, Like database issues, Learn about ssl, Plesk, etc Please let me know if you have any info regarding this.

My suggestion is: (1) Install a Linux OS (e.g. fedora, CentOS, ubuntu) on your desktop or laptop, learn the Linux admin skills. Most hosting companies use CentOS. (2) Install those hosting softwares used by hosting companies (e.g. firewall, virtualization software, apache, php, etc..), and learn how to use and configure these softwares. Good luck!

how to use plesk?
i have created a site in asp.net, hosting is with plesk, i have directly uploaded the files on ftp, but it is giving some errors

What is plesk. Your web server must support asp files to run. You have to install .net framework on your server.

I decided to go with Linux hosting. What now?
I havn't done this for a couple years and the last time I did I used Plesk and absolutely hated it. I am so confused right now. I bought my domain. I have everything confirmed. I bought Linux hosting. How do I get into Linux to get everything started? I was sent an email to show me how to USE Linux but now how to get into it. I dont mean to sound like a newb but I am so frustrated.

Can't get into plesk/cpanel?
I'm not able to access the Plesk 8.1.1 cPanel for my hosting account, I get the following error,... Error: Login is incorrect ( any help??) Thanks

You will need to contact your host and ask them to reset your login and password.

In Plesk, what should I enter as my "Full Host Name"?
Should I put myDomainName.com or should I make up something like myServer.myDomainName.com ???

Does error logging decrease your webspace?
Here's my situation: I have 600 megabytes in webspace, 475 is taken. Today I've come across logging in Plesk 7.5 and saw that it's activated. The current error_log file is 195 megabytes. I have a suspician this is coming off those 600 megabytes, but I wanted to make sure. Anybody out there that knows their hosting packages/ Plesk 7.5 that can confirm this to me?

I don't know that site or software specifically, but; yes your storage is where they keep the logs for your site. Usually, they can be looked over and either compressed or deleted by some action or actions that you control. Check into the logging part of your help and it will usually tell you how to do this. How to DNS?
I have 2 domains with the name A.com & B.com. A.com has physical hosting (with Plesk Control Panel) and B.com doesn't have. I want to redirect B.com to A.com when it's name is typed in the address bar.

Go to your domain provider Go to manage domains chose your B.com. click on it and find something that says "redirect" or similar chose this option If done right, you will be presented with 2 choices temporary and permanent redirect chose permanent redirect (something 301) type http://A.com OK It takes 24 hours or so to redirect Now, when you type in browser (address) bar your B.com, you will end on A.com site.

How upload my site?

well as far as i think.... You should be careful with 1..Folder structure of your website while using filemanger to upload 2. Make sure you have customized the adrress for new database bridge & server implementing codes which seems to be more prominent cos way you said your problem hope this will help :) cheers
