Php Cpanel Hosting
Web Hosting.. Who to choose?
Hey guys
Im looking for a good solid web host. I have been searching around the web here, there, and pretty much everywere for a solid web host. I need the following as standard..
PHP
MYSQL
Web stats
FTP
Cpanel
I have come across http://Right-Hosting.com they offer 1000MB web hosting from $2.95 per month, which is payable via paypal. They host a friend of mine who says they have fantastic support for him, and are always allowing him to use a little extra space and bandwidth when he needs it.
Well, Let me know what you think, or if you guys have any recommendations!
Thank you.
I am not familiar with right-hosting, but I looked at their site and I could not find a support phone # anywhere. I have a number of websites and would never host with a company that doesn't offer phone support. I couldn't imagine waiting hours or days for an answer to an email.
For the last couple of years, I have used http://www.oneworlddomains.com. They offer 24/7 phone support for all their hosting plans. They have a free hosting plan if you register a domain with them. I think their cheapest paid plan is $4/mo, so for $1 more than the other company you get telephone support.
I would at least check them out.
Good Luck!
Free hosting?
Does anyone know a freehostin with cpanel, php, and msql? I also want it to offer free sub-domains!
This is going to be hard to come across. Free HTML/file web hosting might be possible because it is mostly just disk space and bandwidth, both are relatively cheap.
Web hosting with application/scripting and RDBMS (i.e. MySQL) is more expensive because there is now an infrastructure that needs to be maintained. Scripting languages and databases have to be security patched and updated with new releases and backed up. There is also a cost of the maintenance of managing the domain names and sub-domain names. Doing clever things with anything after the "/" slash is much different than doing things before the ".com" To do sub domains, you would have to purchase or write programs to work with their infrastructure which means they would have to have people to work with you which also kind douses the "free" aspect of what you are looking to do.
You might want to start looking here [http://www.lowest-price-web-hosting.com/] or search on hosting companies.
GD Library PHP.?
Okay well i just signed up with a web host. I ran my php engine and it gave the usual errors associated with them not having GD Library. So, do they need to install it or can i through Cpanel some way? Thank you.
It depends on the server configuration, but usually it is not allowed for a user to install a library. So ask you sysadmin to install it.
Installing vBulletin on Cpanel?
I've uploaded all the vbulletin files to my host, but when I try to navigate to /forum/install/install.php it says Not Found
The requested URL /forum/install/install.php was not found on this server.
I'm using a free .co.cc domain.
Make sure that you placed the files in the "public_html" folder. If you place it in the root folder, it will not work.
