Park Domain
Can I park a domain and then find the domain by searching Google?
e.g. freefonetones.com is a parked domain, can I type "free fone" into google and find that site? I will be using sedo to park my domain.
Yes and No. :) The major search engines are not a fan of parked domains. I will mention a couple of things about parking, parking and sedo, and my experiences.
Since your domain will not have any content on Sedo Parking, it will never really rank high in search engines. Good content, backlinks from others sites, and a keyword rich domains are a few key factors to be ranked high. I must mention, there are some parking companies who do allow content with their parking pages.
Back to search engines not liking parked pages, I have seen many of my domains who were parked become banned by a search engine. My assumption was it was banned because it was parked because I was not doing anything with it. After about 80 days the domain received traffic again, which is the standard google ban period. Check out this site to see if any of your domains are banned: http://texeyes.com/SEOKit/google_banned.php
Another tip relating to Sedo is they are known to pay very little for clicks. The main reason is because Sedo lets almost anyone park with them so the advertisers paying clicks pay out less because they know some of the Sedo traffic will be low quality or fraud clicks. Having said that, Sedo is a great parking company to start out with. You will learn a lot about parking through them.
Here is a list of parking companies for your domain. Each has their own benefit. I would be happy to help you choose one if you have any questions. http://parkfile.com/2008/08/need-help-choosing-or-finding-domain-parking-companies/

What is the best place to park my domain for free?
My site is homeowrk4dummies.com . what is the best free site that I can park it to make a little money? I have it parked @ sedo.com.
You won't make money...
We tried to compete against other gaming sites with this site: http://www.gamerzultra.com/news.php
Yet, it still doesn't make money after a year. It loses money! We make $0.06 cents a month in revenue. The net income is -$100.00 a month...
Does anyone know where people park a domain name containing the word yahoo?
I wanted to know what sites allow the word yahoo in a domain name to be parked as most sites dont allow this because of copyright infringement. BUT, Ive noticed some domains out there with the word yahoo that have been parked. I know sedo and namedrive are some that dont allow it.

I dont need hosting sites, I need to know which site offers parking services to domains with the word yahoo contained in it.
I know Parked.com has a secondary provider that might help you out with that, plus they pay out twice a month, but in my opinion, it's just a matter of time until you get a lawsuit served on you.
Where can I find PUBLIC DOMAIN pictures of a national park with NO copyright laws?
I need to find pictures of Banff National Park (in Alberta, Canada) that are in the PUBLIC DOMAIN (no copyright whatsoever).
These pictures may be used in a logo for a medical conference. I am having great difficulty finding any more than 3 online. Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance!
It's true that federal government works in the US are not protected by copyright. But in Canada, government works are protected by copyright for 50 years following the end of the calendar year in which they were produced. See Section 12 of the Canadian Copyright Act.
The Parks Canada Agency website makes it clear that copyright is claimed in any park photos. Personal use is permitted, but you must get written permission for public and/or commercial use. Contact info is on this page:
http://www.pc.gc.ca/avis-notice_E.asp
You might consider asking for permission if you find a Park photo you like. The fee might be small ... or even nonexistent.
If you don't want to seek government permission, a Google search should turn up more than three PD photos of Banff National Park.
For example:
Here's one. There are a couple more of Banff on the site:

Here's another:

Last but not least, try Flickr. I did a search for photos of Banff National Park that are licensed under the Creative Commons for commercial work, and got over 200 results:

Thankfully it doesnt affect Search Engines (well, the most important one at least: Google)...The reason being that to rank high on Google requires page ranking which means many other peple have to link back to that site..since cybersquatted sites dont have very many high linkbacks then they dont usually rank high at all...so seo's like to resort to posting their fake links on blogs and such to build link backs.....
Happy SEO Exploiting! (LOL)
Is it better to park a domain with the same company that hosts the website?
Not necessarily better or worse. The main benefit of having it with them is if you are already dealing with them, it will be simpler for you to make any DNS changes if you need to and you have it all in one place.
how can i submit my park domain to search engines?
my site is www.way2internet.com
i want to submit this site to search engine...but i dont know how to do this...??
First of all there is no reason to submit your site to search engines. They will find it through links, but a parked domain will not offer any benefit.
Park Domain Name on godaddy.com?
I registered a domain name and I want to park it until I am finished editing my website. How will I know it's parked? My status says Active-Locked. Do I need to choose the option Default Parked Nameservers , under Nameservers?
Yes, to park it you choose the default parked name servers. First, unlock the domain, then choose parked name servers, save it, then lock it back. Locking the domain prevents it from being transfered or the status being changed.
Hope this helps.
park and domain aliases?
What is the difference between park domain and domain aliases?
I have some of each...
A parked domain is on the "host" end, (where the files are stored). It means, the host company will allow domain calls to be directed to those files. For example, www.my.com owns files at my.host.com, and www.myother.com is allowed to use those files, too. I have to take responsibility for deciding to which files, calls to www.my.com, and www.myother.com, are directed. For example, if both domains are directed toward index.html, then I darned well better set up my index.html to determine which domain name is trying to get to its website, and deal with the appropriate set of files.
A domain name alias, on the other hand, is set up at the domain name registrary end. It lets me define another name by which a domain may be known. For example, www.my.com may also be known as www.your.com, so that if someone types www.your.com, they'll get directed to the some host by virtue of the fact that the registrar (which is the place that "sets up" how domain calls are interpreted) has decided that www.your.com, is another name for the same thing. Like, say, Jim is another name for James.
