Managed Network Hosting
VMware help in allowing vm guest onto my internal network [NAT/ Bridged?]?
so im running VMware Server version 2.0.0 Build 116503; i use this on a XP machine @ work and i have arch linux installed partly because i like arch linux distro / partly because no one knows what it is,,, =) so i just installed in a VM to pass approval for my work OS..... one thing about it is,,, im not able to pull IP's from the private LAN dhcp,,, i currently have the NIC set to do NAT,,, i tried bridged to my physical NIC but no go,,,i would like my VM to have the same access to my network ad my physical host,, should i be messing with managing networks interface? thanks in advance
It has to be set up in Bridged mode to work like that. In my experience it either works right away or it is a problem with the distro or there is some policy preventing the assignment of the IP (DHCP reservations, MAC address restrictions, etc.)
How to use laptop ad hoc network?
OK I managed to set up an ad hoc network between two laptops. What I want to do is use the software on one computer from the other one. The "host" computer is connected to amateur radio devices and I want to run them from the remote laptop. How do I set this up?
If you are using XP, you can use establish Remote Desktop connection to control other laptop.

which is better to use IPS netowork or host based?
which better to use in network security IPS network base or host based system to manage enterpise network such as bank and big organization ?and which easist to setup and monitor
Both.
If you're trying to protect something like a bank, you *really* want multiple levels of protection. Preferably from different vendors - that way if one doesn't stop the intrusion, the other one will.
Need information about creating a network for a business! Security, file transfer, comm, user accounts, etc!?
Greetings! I am looking for as much information as I can get about creating a network for a small business. I was considering using Windows Server 2003, as I've heard good things about it. Does anyone know any specific advantages to this OS?
Also, what is the best way to manage the way users access files. The company is going to do site hosting, programming and software design, and graphic design. Should the files be running from different servers for different departments?
What are the best ways to manage the files? Can someone tell me about DFS? I've heard it is a good way to gives your employees access to the files? What are the advantages and disadvantages?
How about user accounts? Which program is easy to manage, and gives me the most security options?
I am looking for answers to these and other related questions, essentially I want to know everything there is to know about creating a network. Any advice is appreciated, and thank you in advance!

What is the best platform to setup a vertical social network, i.e. an online community.?
Target market: Consumers spending a few hours a week online, not too advanced
Space: Fashion, entertainment
Visual experience is important, ie video, pics
Super easy to manage and participate
Want control over monetization and hosting
Lots of social features, such as content submission, vorting, rating, polls, commenting, reacting to comments, alerts, messaging platform
Distributed, i.e. gadgets/widgets, feeds, easy to integrate anywhere else
Considering i) ning, ii) Kick apps, ... anything else?
Thank you for the help; fully appreciated
I had the same question until I found this site:

Vista printing?
I have a wireless network. When I open a document and click File, Print, and then click the Find Printers button, I then see the PC that is hosting the printer. I click on the PC and I see the printer. When I say Select, it prompts me for a password. I put in a username and password of a user that has Manage Printers permissions on the host and I get error of
"Credentials supplied are not sufficient to access this printer..... "
Try specifying the computer name before the account that exists in the host PC. e.g MyHomePC\administrator
