Leopard Server
How do I dual boot Mac OS X Tiger and leopard server?
I want to test leopard but still have tiger. How do I do that??
You could partition your hard drive, but that means you'd have to erase it in the process.
How about installing Leopard on an external FireWire drive and booting from it? They are not too expensive, and you can also use it for backing up or to move files etc.
... or if you are using a tower machine, you could drop in a second internal drive.

How do I create a UPnP server on OSX Leopard?
I own an iMac. I'd like to make it a UPnP server so that I can access its content on my Nokia N95 and ZyXEL DMA1000.
Just keen to know what options (free and paid for) I might have.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry but it's not clear what exactly trying to do.
If your Mac is acting as a server I haven't a clue but if your talking about enabling Upnp, then this is done in the advanced setting of your router. Log into your router by using it's address.
198.162.?.? enter the password and enter the advanced setup and they be a box to tick or a button to press that will turn it on.
This will help when using torrent clients
Setting up a Mac Leopard server on a Mac Pro with two internal hard drives?
I want to set up a Mac OS X Leopard server on my Multimedia class computer in school. The new Mac Pro has two Ethernet ports and two internal 500 GB disks. One disk has a Mac OS X Tiger installed and other disk includes Mac OS X Leopard server. We would like to make, so you can use this computer as a server and as a working station. It only allows to login to either to serve or tiger. How we should configure the settings so the computer can use one HDD as a server and other as storage and applications? The computers uses Ethernet plugs for internet connection and this Mac has 2 plugs of Ethernet on the back. Maybe one could be used for daily use and other for server? Basically, we need to use Mac or both server and for personal work while not affecting other HDD. I hope you understand what I mean, it's hard to explain. Thanks for help!
You are making it far more difficult than actually is. Setting up a server and then booting the machine as a workstation does not make much sense, if the server is not always available, then why do you need one in first place? Then, you can log in as a regular user and still run applications from the server machine, it is not the best practice, but if you are not serving lots of users they won't notice the slow down.
My recommendation is to setup the whole machine as a basic server and use the second drive as a time machine backup.
As for the two Ethernet plugs, they are meant to be used for redundancy (in case one of them fails) or to provide one plug for the Internet connection and the other for the internal network, so your server can act as a firewall and control the traffic coming and going from/to the Internet.
How can i use a windows xp as a server for a mac leopard?
Well, if you want to serve files on a windows machine to clients:
I believe only 10 people at one time can connect to a windows XP box.
Also, Leopard has the ability to natively connect to windows shares so I've included a link on how to share files on windows.
You'll use leopard's network browser to connect to the ip address of the windows box.
Get the ip address from the windows box by going to start > run > type cmd > click ok > in the black window at the command prompt type ipconfig.
It will be the line that says IP Address ........

What is the diference between Mac OS X Server v10.5 Leopard and Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard?
Almost all OS have "Servers", i don't know what is " Server " in a Operating Sistem. If you know please tell me!!
Thanx a Lot!!
A server is any software that provides a service. Apache is a web server, MySQL is a database server, ProFTPD is an FTP server, Darwin is a streaming media server.
They all respond to requests for something: web pages, data, FTP connection/file transfer, media streamed to your PC.
Any "Server" version of an OS has these types of things included.
i think im missing some of the leopard wallpapers in my mac leopard os x ?
i just got it the leopard os x and i cant find the leopard server, the one desktop wallpaper like the aurora but blue and the time machine vortex cosmos. do you download those or they are they the default ones im suppose to have? please and thank you
There most definitely is a Leopard Server, but that wallpaper is exclusive to that product. The Time Machine vortex image is not a wallpaper, and you are not missing anything. You ca find it in your system files if you know where to look.
What is a server operating system and how is it different to widows as explained below.?
Mac OS X Server 10.5 Leopard, the latest release of Apple's UNIX server operating system, makes it easy for small businesses, workgroups, and enterprises to take full advantage of the benefits of a server
Server operating systems provide support for networked applications and other multi-user services, whilst widows are women whose husbands have died.
