How to ping a server on the internet if I am sitting behind a proxy?
I am using proxy to connect to internet in my office, how can I ping a server, if I have the IP address of that, on the internet. Is there any special software need to ping/telnet to that server in my case. Apart from that if I use DSL connection that what may be the process to ping the internet server???

You can't. You need the connecting machine on at all times.
