Info Domains
INFO Domains?
Who is the lowest INFO domain seller ?
http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/default.asp
I think they are great. never had any problems
anybody know how much godaddy .info domains cost normally without the special deal, also is it mnthly or yrly?
want to buy my first domain, since they offer a $2.99 deal, im not sure how much it usually costs and how often i must pay, monthly or annually
All domain names are sold annually. $2.99 is the normal price. You pay only once a year and you can have Godaddy automatically renew your domain name at the end of the year. They email you when it is time to renew.
Is there a way to block ALL emails that come from domains ending in "info"?
Most of the spam I get comes from email addresses ending in ".info". Can I add something to my blocked addresses that blocks all email from all domains ending in info?
You can do this in Outlook.

Adding ".info" to the blocked addresses list doesn't work.
Y does not allow that. Try a filter if you have them.

Is .info domains have any problems as they are cheap ?
Not as far as I know. The reason why they would be cheaper than a .com domain name is because a huge amount of the obvious .com names have already been registered eg. computers.com.
The problem with .info names is that if you have a website called computers.info, people might only remember the "computers" part (if they haven't bookmarked it) and type in computers.com instead. For a commercial site this could prove detrimental to business.
I want to build my own website, need info about domains/hosting?
I know alot of people ask this question but I'm not just talking about piczo, geocities or xanga, my brother and I are thinking about setting up an art production website, and we want our own domain, advertisement free etc etc, really professional.
I've done some research, and it seems that all I can do is rent a domain, but I actually want to OWN the site and domain, if that makes sense, be my own host, if I can???
I don't know if any of that is possible, but any info you can give me would be great, I need a LOT of disk space and disk transfer, and obviously the cheapest offer would be best but I'm not stingy. Thanks.
If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

I could see lot of spam mails are from .info domains. What's the trouble with .info domain ?
Just because a spam mail shows that it is from a particular domain doesn't mean it really is. Spammers are programmers, and they can make anything look like anything else. Use common sense when handling all emails...
1. Spam mails that go straight to Bulk should be left there (and emptied occasionally if you want). But they should NEVER be opened.
2. Spam mails that land in your Inbox should be marked as Spam so that they are moved to Bulk and placed on the Blocked list (blocking that address so you don't receive any more mails from them).
3. Any email that you are the least bit suspicious about should be deleted immediately. Don't let curiosity get the better of you. Simply by opening a spam email, you could be alerting the spammers that you have an active email address (they probably didn't know it before), to which they will most certainly send TONS of spam mail in the future.
