Hosting Managed Site

Which video hosting site to choose?
For a little over a year now my friends, and I have been making short little videos for the amusement of our other acquaintances. Something that has always troubled me though is how video hosting sites manage the videos I submit. For example, a friend pointed out that if a video becomes successful on Youtube it means Youtube can have the rights to the video itself. If this is true or false I am not sure. In the end my question technically is, what video hosting site provides the least restrictions or tricks on your work? Which ones don't put somewhere in their Terms & Agreements that they have full rights to whatever you upload, and instead let you fully keep your video? I apologize if I ANNOY anyone with my ignorance concerning this subject matter, but if I got anything wrong just let me know because... THE MORE YOU KNOW...

If you copyright, or withhold all rights to your own work, youtube should not have any rights to the movies. I personally think youtube is the best place to start off. Read their user agreements and see if you can dig up any answers. I wish you the best of luck with your hobby.

Who would like to help me create a social networking site?
Hi everyone, I have been thinking for a long time that I would love to create a Social Networking Site but there is one problem. I have all the code I need, but I am not sure where to host the site(preferably a free host until the site starts to grow). If anyone is interested, and would like to help build the site and then we will both manage it 50/50. Let me know if your interested.

'Free Hostia' has no forced ads and is a good starting ground to learn how to build a complete website, so the transition to your own server is easy with database back-ups and the like.

Does any body know a program (not a host site) that can help me to manage my Sales personel and my sales?

MICROSOFT OFFICE (EXCEL) IS A GOOD SPREADSHEET, U PROBABLY ALREADY HAVE MS OFFICE ANYHOW.

Is there a law which prohibits posting screenshots of another site?
Is there a law/statute which prohibits hosting screenshots of another site? I manage a very large forum and have recently received a ticket (letter) from my host which expresses concern due to an email they themselves have received from another party stating that I am violating US copyright laws listed under the "DMCA". This party has made the claim that I am violating US copyright terms by displaying the icons which appear on their site. These icons are simply visible in the screenshot. It isn't as if I am using them. To me, this is absurd. Again, I AM NOT using the icons; they are merely visible in a thumbnail of a screenshot which is hosted on my website. Surely this is a frivolous attempt to have the image removed, but I'd like to know if there is actually a law that is being broken. Is the complaint valid? This seems like it falls under "Fair use on the Internet" to me...

Their website is their intellectual property, and obviously is also subject to copyright. Most companies are fairly tolerant of a screen-shot being taken of their site, but they have the right to defend their IP. Much the same as images of art, photography etc... if you don't own the copyright, then you need to seek permission to use the image. Displaying a thumbnail on your site is 'using' the image, from a legal perspective. So yes, the complaint is valid (albeit petty in my opinion).
