Is it wrong to host and plan your own baby Shower?
This is my second child, my first born is just about 6 years old...so its been a while since ive had a baby! I didnt save everything from when he was a baby, and needed to buy everything again. My friends are coming in from out of town and wanted to be there for a baby shower so i got an idea that I could have it next month while they are visiting!!! I feel like it's wrong of me to have the baby shower here at my place (there isnt anywhere else i could have it) and I dont really have anyone else to plan it either. My friends woul dhave a hard time planning it if they dont even live here anymore. Is it considered greedy to host your own baby shower???? I'm not doing it to get things, im doing it for a get together of all my friends since they wont be around when the baby is born. Oh I'm 28 weeks pregnant now and by then I'll be 31 weeks is that too early to have it??? thanks

Hi, I don't see anything wrong with you organizing your baby shower, why not? It's like organizing your own birthday party. Hey if nobody is doing it for you, go for it.. I think it should be fun. Is it wrong to host/plan your own baby shower?
I live in The Netherlands where baby shower parties are just not done! None of my friends have no idea what to do, they barely know what a baby shower is and they are really superstitious about celebrating the baby before it has arrived. I come from a country where baby shower parties are quite normal and have hosted quite a few myself but never here (though I have offered but was declined) I would really like to have a baby shower but I am afraid no one will come and celebrate with me. This is my first baby so I'm naturally so excited to celebrate! Any opinions?

Its not wrong, but it is viewed as tacky. Considering you live in a place where its incredibly unheard of to have a baby shower prior to the birth of the baby, I would skip it. It sounds like most people are against participating in things like that. Just have a baby shower AFTER the baby arrives. Its just as fun and exciting. If you do want a traditional baby shower, then consider flying home (assuming there are still friends and family there) and have your baby shower there. I'm sure they'll all be thrilled to see you and host a shower for you.

how are in advance should i start planning and host my wedding/bridal shower?

You are the bride you do not host your own shower... Your Maid of honor, Mother, Aunt, Cousin or a combination of the above host the party for you... You do not plan the party they plan it, you are the bride, the guest of honor not the host... The party should be no earlier than 2 months before the wedding and no latter than 2 weeks before so it will not conflict with other prewedding activities...

I cancelled my yahoo host package, how do I get back my website?
Right, so I canceled my hosting plan. But, I need my site up an running by tomorrow I don't care how much I pay or with who I do it. But I need to have my site up an running tommorow. How do I do that?

Do you have access to your web page formatting files(HTML code)? Do they belong to Yahoo? You can find a new hosting company in just a few minutes through Google or other search site, but without files you'll have to build your pages from the ground up. I'd contact Yahoo ASAP and ask for help. Hopefully you haven't burned your bridges with them. Make nice with them until you find a new host.

When Both Your Baby Shower Hosts Bail Would It Be Bad Etiquette to Ask a Guest To Host?
My baby shower is coming up in the next few weeks. My first host was planning to come from out of state to throw the shower but now she can't get away. My second host all of a sudden says that she has a class that day that lasts all day long. I'm putting them behind me and thinking about the shower. At this point I have people coming from out of state who have bought tickets to come, so I don't want to cancel the shower, and for me it's not about just getting stuff because we pretty much have everything, it's just a time to celebrate with family and friends. Do you think it would be in poor taste to ask one of my invited guests to assume host duties with the game for the shower?

It wouldn't be bad etiquette at all. Your two friends who have bailed you shouldn't have chosen the dates that clash with their own plans, and they should also prioritise. It's good that you have put them behind you. Ask someone who you can truly rely on. I'm sure nobody would mind having the responsibilities, as it would be so much fun!

Will the NFL ever host another American Bowl Down Under game? I wish i went to the Sydney one in '99 but I didn't have foxtel to watch it either, or does anyone know where theres footage of the '99 game anywhere on the internet or on DVD? I reckon it would be awsome to go to one of those special NFL games, it'd be like NFL Europa, just with an Aussie touch to it. So does the NFL have any internation host plans in the future? U can get the database from classifieds (suppliments with Sunday newspapers)... u can call up or send mails to these ppl to join ur website... promoting the website is not very easy because it has lot of competition... u can advertise it on various websites which ur target audience use frequently, yahoo, rediff, raaga.com, msn india and so on... u can even advertise on classifieds.. give some offer kind of thing for first 100 members something like that... u can even get database from ur neighbourhood, friends... u can employ retired ppl, housewives etc, because they have strong word of mouth communication and u can get lot of leads by that way.. hope this helps.. best of luck
