Host Domains
What does it mean when it says "10 hosted domains"?
I want to build my own website and the place I'm trying to host at says I can get 10 hosted domains. Does that mean 10 pages of my website such as 1 for the home page, an about me, and anything else I choose?
"10 hosted domains" means you can have in essence 10 websites (10 separate www.XXXXX.com) ... you would purchase the package and only (More than likely) use 1 domain name - though in the future you could choose to create another website and use one of your domain names.
This has nothing to do with the pages. You can have as many pages in your website as you have bought space for. So if you are simply creating a website to give info and simply things like that you should have more than enough room.
Usually the company you are purchasing from can guide you to the best package for your needs. I am a web programmer and I use www.networksolutions.com for some of my clients - they are easy to work with and help you decide what you need.
Is a Windows XP user name accessible to host domains?
I hope i asked this question correctly, this is what i mean:
lets say my name is john doe, and i've created my user name on windows XP as john doe
1. If I visit a website is any information of mine recordable besides my internet protocol? (in other words, is there any way for the host to know that i'm "john doe?"
2. what if I download a file from the website?
Ex: i save a jpeg or a zip file to my desktop (c:\documents and settings\john doe, or something like that)
** I'm hoping someone will understand what I mean by this question
NO
