Half Life Dedicated Server?
I start the hlds for cs1.6... Everything is alright till i add my dedicated server ip address on favourite. My dedicated server name appear on that. But until now, no one join my server. Why? Is there any that I miss? My dedicated server ip address is 192.168.1.2:27015
One more.. Can anyone help me on AMX mod X. I go to amx website amxmodx.org but i didn't understand.
Please teach me to be an admin.

Have you tried configuring your router

go to this adress then click on your router then find cs 1.6 and it tells you what to do.

Running a Half-life Dedicated Server[HLDS]?

256 MB of RAM /Charter Cable internet with router.

There's no such thing as lag free. On HL servers, as well as many online game servers, the host can cause lag, however, other players will cause the lag that is most often complained about. That's why they give you the ping of the other players, so the mods can kick them when they cause lag.
With your computer you should be fine running a server, if anything would slow you down, it would be you being dumb and running downloads or streaming something from the internet while you have your server up.

Do a netstat from a comand prompt. This should show you all of your open ports on your computer.

Game servers can be classified as listen servers and dedicated servers. Listen servers are run on the same machine as the game client. Dedicated servers are used by game server providers to host individual game servers or Massively multiplayer online games. In general Massively multiplayer online games are all run on dedicated servers usually hosted by the software company that developed and owns the game title, as this allows them to control and update content. In many cases they are run on clustered servers to allow for huge environments and large player counts.
Listen servers are mostly used by individual players in a LAN party setting.
Internet Server Help (Urgent!)?
OK Here i go.
I'm running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise, I am trying to run a Ventrilo Server and a Half-Life Dedicated Server on it. I run them both. Ventrilo says everything is working, The IPs are correct on ventrilo, as displayed, But no one on the internet can seem to connect (not even anyone on LAN, Only the server PC can connect!). This is the same for the Half-Life Dedicated Server. It says "Connection Success", But it still doesn't show up on LAN or Internet. I have no firewall, or antivirus. I tried it on a differant operating system (XP Pro) and it still didn't work. I swapped network cards, and that didn't work, All needed ports are open, On my normal PC (The one i'm on now) i play games on, the servers work fine, i just wanted another PC for making 24/7 servers on. Everything should work fine, But i don't know the problem. I hope you can help. Thank you SO much for reading.

Like i said.. Everything was working on my old machine (The one im typing on), It's just not working on my new server machine, Tried reinstalling and everything, But still didn't work.
Are you behind a router? If so set up IP address forwarding/port forwarding to the IP of the computer hosting the server.

start the scrds in the cs 1.6 folder then the menu will come to start a dedicated server
Half Life Starcraft Player Models?
Are there any player models for Half Life (1) or Team Fortress Classic that look like Terran, Protoss, or Zerg from the Starcraft? I have already googled it and help would be GREATLY appreciated as soon as possible. If I cannot find any I will TRY to make some, but they would be the first models I'm making and thus not very good.
I need these so I can run them on my dedicate server.

yes, the houndeye from half life might be able to look like a zerg. many of the prototypes from HL1 look like zerg, but none actually came through. Head craps also could pull off zerg

like say theres someone in my server named "joe" how would i give him,say, godmode
would it be like "give joe god" ?

and if its my server and my server is a dedicated server can i play on it with admin and leave and come back later and still have admin?

1. most of the things you listed like noclip and giving weapons is an admin addon. They allow you to give you and others admin for broadcasting, giving noclip, and giving weapons. 2. The only way to make a dedicated server that doesn't go off when you exit the game is to go into Steam, then the Tools tab, then SOURCE dedicated server. apply all of your settings and click start server. 3. After you do the last step, your server you should be set up, to get admin on that server for anytime you want, you will use rcon. RCON is the most basic admin, it allows you to kick, ban, change map, etc. ,however the way you use it is to put in your password on the settings then go into your server and in the console (default key `) you type in rcon_password

It is a general discussion forum, and we also have a section for my friend's Half Life 2 Garrys Mod dedicated server. You don't need to be familer with Half life 2 or anything of that matter, because we have a nice blend of discussion topics.
