Google Host
Where to host our websites?? wher do websits like google and yahoo host their websites??
hey ppl
i 'm makin a website i. nd i want a very good host for my website
wer do these big websites like rediff, yahoo and google host their sites?
Google, Yahoo, and the like have their own buildings with their own servers sitting in them.
I had my own server sitting somewhere (colocation facility) that had a better connection, but due to costs I switched to a hosting company. I would prefer using my own server, however my ISP does not allow it and I have yet to find a suitable alternative.
There are plenty of hosting companies - hostmysite, godaddy, etc.

google or yahoo for domian host? Which do you have and do you like it?
im making a website and Id like to know if you have tried yahoo and/or google as your domian host had how do you like it?
Or do you have your own domain host you would like to recommend.
thanks
Google does have standard hosting, though their blogger.com is excellent for a blog site. Googlepages allows publishing of basic web pages, but isn't full service web hosting.
Yahoo has webhosting, but its like $20 a month.
there are many other places that only charge $3-10 a month.
lunarpages
dreamhost-allows unlimited number of separate domains
ipowerweb
godaddy--a bit more, but they have good customer service
and many others
how do i properly upload videos from google to host on another website and was exactly is copyright?
help
Google videos and you tube videos offer the person who uploaded it the code to display it on other sites. You can ask the person who uploaded it for permission or you can just link it- risking being sued for copyright infringement. (Meaning- they own the video and can choose who can display it)
How do you block sites exclusive to Google with host files?
Sites like Google Video and YouTube have really been cutting my productivity lately, so I've been trying to block them with hosts files. The Facebook block worked, but every time I enter a site that's owned by Google, it still pops up when tested. Is there a way to bypass this without using the "privacy block" on IE7? The password is too easy to just type in and march straight into YouTube and think "just ooooone more video. Just a teensy one." Help?
i have a great answers for u r question dude

Adsense question -- how does Google know the difference between me and my Blog host?
I'm hosting a site that is like a blog, but I'm doing it with a third-party company that also hosts other blogs and sites.
We'll set things up so that users are always working through my URL. But if the host is the same for multiple blogs, how does Google tell the difference between us? I don't want to receive revenue from other blogs on the site, nor do I want them receiving mine.
FYI: this is a small host, not one of the big-name companies (e.g. Wordpress or Blogspot). So we have to set things up on our own.
Let me see if I understand you corrrectly.
Let us assume that Blog Host will be www.bloghost.com (theoretically speaking). And any blog sites like yours hosted by Blog Host will be blog1.bloghost.com , and another publisher's blog will be blog2.bloghost.com
You can apply for your own Adsense account and put it in your blog1.bloghost.com. Other publishers can apply for their own Adsense account and put it in their blog page. Google will be able to tell you apart even if you have the same host by your publisher ID which is embedded in the code.
how many sitemap i should create and host for google?
Google actually recommends to have a different sitemap for every 100 pages. I think it's extreme, I have 1200 pages and only one sitemap. If you are an authority site Google will index your new pages faster than your sitemap. But, the sitemap will help Google find deep pages that are connected with Java Script Links or even most flash links.
I signed up for a website with google. I am not paying to host this website however when you type in the url ?
the site comes up. How can this be?
They will put Adwords advertisements.
Visit Indian Technology Blog.
how can websites like Google afford to host everything and give it to us for free? i never click on ads.?
They spy on you gathering every-type of information they can about you and then they sell that information to marketing firms.
Is Panoramio the only site used to host photos on Google Earth?
I feel kind of dirty asking questions about Google's products on Yahoo Answers but eh, we use them both for what they're good for, right?
I see the Google Earth allows you to place pictures on the virtual earth now, through Panoramio. Is Panoramio the only site that is used to host these pictures? What do you guys think of Panoramio in general (I have never used it before).
Also, can anyone place pictures on the Google Earth? I notice there are quite a few but in my area there are only 2 or 3... It seems to me like there would be more if anyone and everyone could do it... Are there moderators or anything?
At the moment, yes, Panoramio is the only website which hosts images on Google Earth. There are a few other branches which may have pictures on them which can be accessed from Google Earth, such as Google Earth Community. Other than that, Panoramio is the only photo-sharing website in direct connection with Google Earth.
In my opinion, Panoramio is very rewarding and enjoyable, free and easy to use. It has a good concept, which is to post high-quality pictures of a particular location, and then to locate where they were taken from, using Google maps. After a few months, the mapped photos will be accepted into Google Earth, and then anyone who uses the program will be able to see them. Your photos must be of reasonable quality though, i.e. they must show a particular location, landscape or landmark (not with people or cars etc. as the main subject), they cannot be excessively blurred, and they must be real photos, not paintings or sketches.
The only negative aspect of Panoramio is that one cannot give a description of a photo; it is not yet integrated into the website. Hopefully, one day it will be.
Answering another of your questions, yes, anyone can place pictures on Google Earth. All you need to do is sign up to Panoramio, take some good pictures of a landscape/area, upload them, and map where they were taken from. In a few months, they would appear in Google Earth.
You may ask why they take so long to appear in Google Earth. The answer to that is: all photos uploaded to Panoramio are reviewed, by moderators. Provided that the photo fits the acceptance criteria (which I explained above), the photo will be accepted, and sent to Google, where it will later be uploaded.
This process takes time. Volunteer reviewers have to go through each of the millions of photos individually, send them to Google, then Google will upload them once per month (for instance, the next scheduled update is on the 15th of November, 2007).
Hope that information helped you.
