I am working on a website that will need a domain but it's not big enough to justify paying for web space. Does anyone know of a domain registrar that will offer some free web space with the purchase of a domain? 100MB with 1GB of bandwidth would be more the enough.

I have just uploaded a html file to my free web space. How do I get it to be displayed automatically with ie?
My html file is not shown when my page link is used in internet explorer, it is shown as a file in my server directory, to display it I have to click on the file, it then opens . Should I be adding something to my html document. Please point me in the right direction.

In general, the Web server is set up to choose a file to display if the filename is not specified. Generally, the file chosen is one called index.html (some servers use default.html instead). So http://www.myhost.com/mydir/ is the same as http://www.myhost.com/mydir/index.html . If index.html doesn't exist, a directory listing will be displayed, which is what you're seeing. To get the file to display automatically, just change its name to index.html (or whatever your server's default is -- your hosting provider's tech support can tell you this).

I'm looking to start a small on-line business selling lacrosse (sports) apparel. I don't have the $$$ to pay for a "real" site as i am putting all of what i have into product right now. If you go to http://www.dakotawebhosting.com they have free web hosting when you buy a domain for $10.99. I think a small part of the site would have advertising but you would have your own domain name and a presence online. Then when you start making some sales you could upgrade to the advertisement free hosting.
