Is there a free web hosting provider that will let me use my own nameservers (DNS) and not theirs?
When I try to sign up for free web hosting accounts, the first thing it does is tell me to go to my domain host and switch my DNS control to them. I want to keep my DNS where it is. Does anyone know of a free hosting service that will simply allow me to point my "A" record to a provided (shared) IP address?

When you acquire a domain name, connect it using a redirection service [as discussed above] and submit/publish the domain name on major search engines/directories in order for Net surfers to find your website.

I would recommend using Microsoft Office Live Small Business, a free service from Microsoft. It has a free, easy to use online web designer tool with templates which allows you to create a website without the need to know how to do HTML/CSS coding.

How to remove banners for free from geocities free web hosting ?
I used to do it - I mean hosting in geocities and tripod free webhosting service with no banners -
I use the tag in my web pages - unfortunately this noscript tags to remove or kill banners has stop working for geaocities web hosting services but it still works perfectly in tripod services
I want to know if any method or tags or anything available for removing banners from geocities - I have seen some fellow programmers done it recently but they are too secretive on it.
xs , its not that my friend - I already have bulk size webpages on plenty enough geocities accounts with its domain well known to many for long time. I cant transfer it now since its far tedious and hectic job and I don't have the time for it as well.

Technically it will not, unless of course your free web hosting has a limitation of bandwidth per month. If that is the case, it will be block from access.

Other than the human factor mention above, I don't see any relation between traffic and web hosting. However if you take SEO into part of the factor, it might have some effect as well.

How come companies can afford to provide free web hosting but not free .com domains?
Saying that web hosting usually costs 5 dollars a month, and domains usually cost 5-10 dollars A YEAR, how come people don't provide free domains?

Web hosting is easier to provide for free since the space that is provisioned on the web server may already be paid for. But for a domain name, they cost the host per domain just as they cost you and I, so they would lose a lot of profit trying to provide free .com names.
