Are There Any Sites That I Can Get A Domain And Hosting From For VERY Cheap, Or Even Better Yet: FREE?
I'm looking to buy a particular .com domain name that's listed as available, however I'm on a budget, I'm also looking for hosting.
If you know of a company/site, can you list it here for me to review, and list it's pro's and con's.
I'm looking for the following features with my domain registration/hosting:
Multiple email addresses, (around 10 should suffice).
Construction tool and HTML editor, (my knowledge of HTML and CSS is intermediate at best, but I do have some widgets and custom HTML that I would like to impliment in conjunction with the construction tool).
Very cheap, or free, with no advertising.
Thanks for your suggestions.
As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.
http://www.goldpuma.com is the lowest cost service which is full-featured and really works for you ($3.99 /month).
But if you’re looking for the best service on the web, take a look at: http://bluehost-service.atspace.com . As an experienced webmaster I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them. Their service is really great and easy to use.
how does domain registration work? can you answer these questions?
1. if i register a domain, is that mine to use no matter who does the page HOSTING? for ex: if I register a domain with yahoo, and my ISP gives me free hosting, can I connect the two?
2. how likely is it that the company i do the registration with this year will give me the about same price next year? What if they significantly increase the price, can i MOVE my registration somehow to a competitor?
1. You can have your domain registered with a different company than who provides your hosting, you just need to set your nameserver settings with your domain host to point to your web host. Your web host should be able to tell you what the DNS settings should be.
2. Domain registration is very competitive - it's highly unlikely that your rate will increase very much, since you will probably constantly get offers from competing companies to switch. It's relatively easy to switch who your domain is registered with - and it's even easier to change your hosting provider.
totally free web site is there such a monster?
is there such a thing as a totally free web site, with free domain, ip, hosting, registration and anything else required to run my own web site
i have founds sites offering pieces of the puzzle but am still searching for the big free
Good luck looking for one...most hosts, as you said, only offer a "piece of the puzzle". My host gave me a free domain for the duration of my hosting plan though, which was reasonably priced. You may be able to get a donated domain if you look hard enough-free domain hosting isn't too hard to find either. If you do stumble upon a completely free host, be sure to tell me ;)
Domain Registration?
I already have a domain and hosting, but I'd like to find a service that will register another domain name for a one time fee, not yearly or any of that stuff. This is just for a project, I'd like to try and point the domain at a free hosting website's (already have one) servers.
No can do, you can only register it yearly or for every 2 years depending on the domain. You can always register the number of years you want the domain for up front.
go daddy and 123 reg are the popular ones
I have recently learned to build pages in HTML, and am trying to get a domain.?
I have recently learned to build pages in HTML, and I am trying to get a domain. I am told the only way to get your own domain is to purchase it. Is this right, I see ads for Free domain, but they require a hosting package to be bought. I already have a hosting package, but they didn 't offer a domain registration, and I need to get the site under a domain and get more money before I can pay for domain, or another hosting site.
Yes and No. You can rent space at sites like geocities here in yahoo or go daddy is another one. I own 2 businesses and needed my own without someone else attached to the end of it so I went to network solutions and got my 2 sites. another one thats good for exposure but isnt very user friendly to the newbee is microsoft's live (beta) they are free for the first month then you can choose from a few different price plans.
Is WebHostingBuzz.com really great hosting company?
My friends recommend it to me all the time so I wondered if anyone of you guys had experience with them. I am particularly looking for their budget hosting package that comes with 3 free domain registrations.
I recommend Dreamhost http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html
It's the much better option than WebHostingBuzz.com
1. You get a Free domain from them (actually you get 3 Free domains if you use the promo code, more about that later)
2. They have 500 GB of Disk Space
3. 5TB (5000 GB) of Bandwidth
4. You can use their huge Disk Space and host multiple sites (you can add unlimited number of domains, and host them all on a single account)
5. Their price is $119.40/year ($9.95/month if you pay yearly)
6. Which is the same price as WebHostingBuzz.com but they currently have a promotion:
Use the Promo Code: WORLD (at sign up page) and get a $50 discount + 3 Free Domain Names
7. This way you get them for $69.40/year ($5.78/month)
8. That's about 35 GBP/year (2.9 GBP/month)
P.S. If you're from the UK also check out http://www.hosttell.com/one They are one of the leading European hosting companies (hosting over 500 000 websites), and they currently have a promotion in the UK. They are offering free hosting and a domain (I think you have to pay about €10 setup fee and that's it). This way you get hosting and a domain for a price of a domain. Check them out.
Absolutely 100% free website hosting?
Can someone tell me a site where I can get whatever domain name I want, without registration, hosting, etc. fees? I don't want to pay anything, but I want a nice clean domain. I don't mind a couple of ads, so long as they're not really in the way. I'm sure someone's already asked, but I'm too lazy to browse the questions...thank you in advance.
hmm, freehostia wants lots of unneccissary (sp?) info...but i get the idea. i think i can figure this out...
ah, thanks so much! i'm not sure how well this worked, because i'm using dial-up and thus have as little downloading from pages as possible, but i think this'll do. i used a combination of the first and third answers, so really, i'm not sure what to say was the best...
its hard to get free domains but there is an another way.. reach http://freehostia.com there you can get free hosting but with subdomain... then after registering the website reach to http://www.dot.tk/ there register your domain and redirect to your website. you will get your domain name as www.yourwebsitename.tk
Need some domain info?
Hey,
I got asked to make a business website for someone, and they want a legit website 'dot com'.. now I have made websites before but I always used free hosting and what not, mainly because it was more of just a hobby for me..
So.. I need to find a good legit company that sells domain names and hosts the website and offers good bandwidth with email accounts tied to the domain and ftp capible..
Basically what I need is the works, this is a small company so I don't think the bandwidth is going to be insanely high but still, looking for an anual payment also..
I have no real knowledge of working with domains and don't want to go about this wrong so some info on this would be great,
Looking for a good legit company that offers hosting and domain registration..
How does this work exactly? Do I just register the domain and pay for it and then find a website hosting company and route to the domain or what? Or is there companys that offer it all, and what are some if so..
Thanks!
http://www.godaddy.com for both domain registration and web hosting.
There are others that are good too. But for simplicity's sake, pick one like godaddy that does both in one.
You use the tool that godaddy (or whoever) provides you to pick a domain name that's still available, they register it to you or to your company, and if they are doing the web hosting, they'll automatically set the domain name to point to your web host account.
