How would I start to make a fan website?
I want to make a fan style website, but I want to be able to earn money off of it with having ads, etc. on it. How would I go about starting something up like this? I know I would have to pay for the url, but how?

is it illegal to scan the front and back cover of video game cases and post them in a non profit fan website?

Copyright laws are pretty strict. Even schools have to be careful using videos and they don't make money... so I would check if I were you.

Yahoo! Geocities gives you multiple templates, if this is what you are asking. It has many features, too. You choose it with Page Wizards, and then you can edit the HTML yourself (if you want to.) They have a free and premium version, the premium having more options and templates. Some sites offer free templates to use for you own site as well besides the provider's site. Just look for "free web templates" on Google. You can replace default themes with your own pictures. Later.

I can't remember the site for the life of me, and I can't find it in any search engine. It's an online newspaper - I think it's daily - and it prints jokey, The Onion-type baseball-related stories. It's basically a Chicago fan site, and though I am not a Sox/Cubs fans, I did like to read their fake stories. One of the recurring spots they had was a Pete Rose over/under piece. Hello, I always wanted to have my own website that covered Notre Dame football but everytime I go to purchase a domain name and read the rules and regulations, it kind of scares me off with all this copyright stuff and legal issues dealing with websites. So is it legal for me to actually create my own fansite as long as I state that the site has no afilliation with the school in any way and this is strictly a site for fans?

yes as long as you don't used copyrighted or trademarked material, especially in the title and address of the cite. I would avoid words such as Notre Dame, Irish, Fighting Irish, and other words that are trademarked or copyrighted by the University. Look at some of the other fan sites that exist to get an idea of what you can and cannot put in it. Good luck and let us know if you make one, I'm an Irish fan as well.

Hello. you can use any video of anyone,as long as you are keeping it, in it's origional form. Any tampering ,changing,or trying to sell,that video is punishment by imprisoment,under copywrights laws.Just because you buy a cd .does'nt give you the wright to burn a copy of it,and then sell it.
