Email Sever
If we use a diferent email sever, how can we make sure our mail gets to yahoo users?
I met someone that caught my attention last night here, I would like to talk to her more without asking for her directly here. I want to talk with her and not recieve any violation, any ideas?
It appears that the question period has expired. If you have received an answer that meets your needs, please choose one of those as a 'best answer.' If you haven't received a good answer for your question, you may want to consider the following,
1) Re-post your question. Newer questions get more activity on Yahoo! Answers than old ones.
2) If you do re-post your question, consider why it wasn't answered the first time. Could it be more specific? Could it be worded better? Were there grammatical or spelling errors? Was it in the best category?
If it doesn't seem likely that re-posting your question will help you, then here's a listing of my favorite 'answer sites'. Maybe one of them will help you.

email sever changes on Mac book pro?
i am typing for my aunt at this moment and she is new to the mac book. she is using the automatic email system and incoming mail is working fine, but any mail that is outgoing cannot be sent, cuz it says the sever is not valid. can any of you guys give me any tips on how i can fix the sever, it just doesn't make sense to me because the sever for outgoing is identical to the on that is incoming.
Typically, the outgoing server is smtp.domain.com where "domain" is like gmail or yahoo. Example: smtp.yahoo.com
The incoming email would be something like: Pop.domain.com or Pop3.domain.com or mail.domain.com or even imap.domain.com.
If it is pop, make sure you configure the mail.app preferences as POP or if is imap, make sure you configure the mail.app as imap.
If you can post the email domain, we can find the mail.app configuration instructions.
I am trying to email someone but I get the same message, "sever rejected email", why?
And if your answer is because they haven't added me to their contacts how do you get around it.
You'll have to provide more info than what. WHICH server rejected the email? THEIRS? or YOURS? Usually it comes back with a more detail message than that.
If it's YOURS, your "from" address is wrong or invalid or has the wrong domain name or something like that.
Have to see the whole error message if it's THEIRS.
How can I find my email sever name?
i have yahoo mail beta
Usually it works this way, but necessarily always. Say, if your email id is xxx@email.com, then ur mail server should be mail.email.com. or if your email id is xxx@nirvana.com, then ur mail server will be mail.nirvana.com

If you want to use Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird or other third party email clients to view your email you have 2 options.
Subscribe to mail plus:
http://billing.mail.yahoo.com/bm/Upgrades
or download and install YPOPS
http://ypopsemail.com/
then follow the directions for your version of outlook here,
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/index.html
If you have trouble with set up, check the YPOPS installation page for alternate set up instructions.
http://dbeusee.home.comcast.net/
Click on YPOPS link on the left.
Then Click on Configuring email clients towards the bottom.
Choose the appropriate link for your mail client.
I currently utilize version 2.0.0.4 of Thunderbird
and version 0.8.3 of YPOPS (there is a more recent version of YPOPS that you need if you are Yahoo Beta Mail) and have no problems.
