E Mail Hosting
Is it possible to run your own e-mail hosting service?
I've got my own domain and stuff, but how do I run a public e-mail service, such as Hotmail, or G-Mail?
Is there a script for such a thing?
I'm looking for a customizable script, AKA PHP or likewise.
Sure. You need to start making an web application. To see all the legal aspects for security. Then get people to trust you and subscribe. The problem is when you get sued because peoples accounts are not secure, etc. There are some forum applications like phpBB that have integrated mail or you can build your own.
How To Fully / Partly Backup Hosting Account And Send It By E-mail?
I want to schedule full or partial ( files, database, e-mails ) backup of my hosting account on monthly basis and receive backups through e-mail.
I know it involves cron job, but how can i do that?
You should be looking for Acronis True Image backup software. it meets all your needs.
You could backup with free trial version,
but in order to restore will need full license.
so download trial version on the machine you want to backup from and the full one you will restore to.
good luck
Who can recommend a good free e-mail hosting service.?
I currently use Yahoo mail but I would like to use an alternative that allows you to use an e-mail client. I know that you can do this with Yahoo if you pay but I was wondering if this can be done for free.
Google Mail http://mail.google.com
It is by far the best. It can be used by almost all of the the desktop/PDA clients and can also check other POP accounts for you.

Can I use a domain with tow companies, one for the web hosting and one for the e-mail?
I want to have my own WEB PAGE, but I don't have enough mony to pay for the web hosting service.
I already have my own domain registered with YAHOO, and I'm using it only for my personal e-mail. I want to know if it is possible to keep using my Yahoo e-mail service while i host my web site in a free web hosting service that allows me to use my own domain. And, how should I configure the NAME SERVERS to do that.
I saw on the free hosting services that I need to point the NAME SERVER from my domain to theirs, so that means that I have to delete the ones from YAHOO, and, I think that doing that would stop my yahoo e-mail service.
Yes, this is possible. Here's what to do:
A simple method would be to get a subdomain or free domain from your free website host. I'm sure that your free hosting provider offers this. Follow these steps:
1. Log on to your Business Control Panel (here on Yahoo!).
2. Once signed in, click "Manage My Services"
3. Select "Domain Control Panel."
4. Click the "Forward Your Domain" link.
5. Click the "Create Forward" button.
6. If you already set up a Yahoo! starter page, click the "Deactivate Start Web Page" button.
7. Select the second radio button option, entitled "The web site at:"
8. Enter the free domain given to you by your free hosting provider.
9. Click "Continue"
10. Now, you will be asked whether or no you'd like to mask your domain. I would reccomend masking, the second option, because all the pages they look at on your site will look like they're at yourdomain.com. The other option will show the free domain to your visitors, detracting from the "professional" attitude of your website.
Now, you will keep your Yahoo! email, and you'll be linked directly to your website. And, to cap it off, you won't need to do any A or MX record editing. Good luck!
i want to transfer my website hosting how i can change as the login e mail is not mine.?
i want to transfer my website hosting how i can change as the login e mail is not mine. a web designer got money from me and registerde my domain but the registerant e mail he used is his own. Now when i m trying to transfer it then it says please varify e mail. can any one help me regarding this.??
Thanks
Hi this is very anoying and happens quite alot. You pay a web designer to create a website then they register the name and they then own it.
You must report them to
http://www.icann.org/general/contact.htm
ICANN is the internet protection they are in control of all the ip addresses and domain names. Complain to them and they will sort it out for you.
Have you treid to contact the ones you have your name. maybe you can leave a link to the domain name and I maybe alble to help by getting more info for you.
Q about Yahoo web hosting and website e-mail addresses?
Would it be possible to create new website e-mail addresses w/out having to create a new Yahoo account and link the new address to that new Yahoo account?
I'm looking to see if I can simply create new website e-mail addresses so I can access those addresses directly from the control panel.
Bluehost is inexpensive than yahoo webhosting and reliable also

We are having huge problems with our e mail host. They have just decided to pull our domain?
and given us 3 weeks notice, after the 3 weeks we will no longer receive any e mails to our address, our company relies on the e mail for 99.9% of our work and this in turn is going to potentially going to lose us thousands of pounds, can this be legal for them to do, we have been given no explanation of why the domain has been pulled. Does anyone know if we would be eligible to take legal action??
Not sure about the legal aspect but the first thing to do is transfer your domain to another provider - & quickly. You can argue the rest later.
