E Commerce Web Hosting

Easy & manageable e-commerce web hosting?
I know a person who bought an e-commerce store that is currently hosted on aol's free webspace (not ideal). She doesn't know much about html, but is looking for a different web host. She uses Volusion for a different site right now but doesn't really like it or the high price, so she is thinking of using Yahoo...can anyone offer any pros/cons to Yahoo, as well as any other personal experience with other hosting sites for the web illiterate? Thanks!

I would suggest following webhosting , they are quite good. Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukenden/ They offer hosting of "unlimited domains" and you will get massive webspace of 200000 MB (200 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer "a free Domain Name" and installing service called "Fantastico". By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer "Free Website Builder" as well. Visit the site to check details. Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukenden/ Domains Following site is quite good to register domains as price is reasonable with free privacy. Some charge about $5/ year just for free privacy. IPOWER http://www.anurl.com/?TXIBE

I want to sell folk art I made online do I need e-commerce web hosting or just website hosting with pay-pal?

I would recommend you use an e-commerce script of some sort. There are quite a few of them you get for free with hosting at Hostamina.com - you can email them and they will help you set up your e-commerce store. You will probably end up using paypal no matter what you do, because it is the easiest payment processor to implement. At any rate, the people at Hostamina.com will help you learn how everything works and what you need to do to get your store up and running. Most companies won't do this. http://www.hostamina.com -They provide awesome personalized support -They know how to handle all your business needs -They never oversell -They never overload servers -They offer realistic plans -You actually get what they say you get -There is no fake "unlimited" space or bandwidth -There is no fake "50,000 GB" space or bandwidth -They will help you with anything you need help with -They will put you on a super fast server -Every server has at least dual quad core processors -Every server has at least 4GB of RAM -Every server has strict account limitations -Most companies average 300 accounts per server -Hostamina averages 100 accounts per server -Instant Shopping Carts, Blogs, Forums, PHP-Nuke, Joomla, and more!

A Canadian friendly e-commerce web host w/ eBay integration?
Can you recommend a web host that will meet all of my needs below? It's been hard shopping around to find the 'all in one' deal without paying ridiculously. My major needs: - ability to use Internet Secure or PSi Gate as merchant tool - provides eBay integration - unlimited or sufficient bandwidth - extensive e-commerce storefront tools - dedicated IP - SSL certificate (not shared) - site builder - 99.9% downtime, 24/7 support, toll free or 416 local - the other bells and whistles one would expect for e-commerce - a hosting solution that will grow with my company, scalable

The following lists itself as the web's largest hosting directory, but I would caution you against desiring "99.9% downtime": http://www.hostindex.com/

web hosting/e-commerce?
Even an old man like Myself can see that e-commercce is the future, and while I consider My self to be fairly comfortable with using th einternet and computers, I am a long way from being an expert on building web sites, and setting up e-commerce accounts. So I have some questions I would like to understand better before I proceed with establsihing My own web business... I am going to have to start with some kind of a “welcome page” which I am pretty sure I can handle. But from there I want to split between a “free tour” and a “members login”page. The free tour is probably nothing more than linking other web pages which are no more complicated than the welcome page??? But the members sign in page, how would I go about setting that up??? I am also going to what some way of billing My customers for their montlhy memberships and for on line purchases, which I am guessing would invovle something like pay pals and a link to an e-commerce capable bank account which I think I have with washington mutual. I want the ability to up load videos and music for viewing and sale. And I am going to want an on line catolog of merchandise related to My business. I am also going to want some kind of members only chat room. And I want to have some kind of live auction capability. I am going to bet that there are other things I am going to need to know that I amnot even aware of yet, and I am hoping that with this e-mail I can get started and then as I have other questions and problems I will be able to seek guidence and advice from ???? Thank You for your Assistance.

You have a tall order to fill, my friend. So slow down! This kind of business takes an expert in not only web design, but in PHP, MySQL, and CSS. And that is just to start. You dont want to be making every page by hand. By using these, you will be able to make the site interactive and dynamic. If you cant do this or dont know what Im talking about, you need to consult an expert to either teach you or do it for you. I dont know how to do a chat room...but you will need a good databaser to have any sort of login page, a place to store all those customer's information, a way to charge them monthly automatically, unless they pay per product they view... You will need to get a merchant account, usually through your bank, and set up a shopping cart on your site, after people login, to put their credit card info in. you need to capture that info (Databasing again) to incur recurring monthly charges. It is a lot of info, but really, it isnt THAT hard if you already have the products you want to sell. You just need a good databaser/programmer.

E-Commerce hosting question?
Hi. I have a question about e-commerce hosting. If I have the front-end code ready to go for an e-commerce site (html pages of products, etc) is there any host that allows me to easily plug in my code to the e-commerce software they provide with the hosting package? I checked with 1and1.com but they said I have to use their template if I want to use the eShop package they provide. (I can place my own logo, header, etc into the template, but I cannot modify the design to make my own). So, here are the questions: 1. If I want to use my own design / template, what's the best way to go about creating an e-commerce website? Are there any web hosting company that provides means to plug in my template into their e-commerce web hosting package? 2. My design is similar to "http://www.coach.com/default.aspx" Is there any web host that provides similar looking template as coach.com? Detailed explanation on how I can go about doing this would be greatly appreciated.

You may review list of top ten web hosting at website like http://aplis.net/ , you may also contact a web developer at website like http://definitivelab.com/ to help you code a web template simmilar to coach.com .

1and1 web hosting: e-commerce?
Hi . Does anyone here have experience with 1and1 eshop? I am thinking of purchasing 1and1 hosting plan to create an ecommerce site. Please provide detailed instructions on how I can go about making this happen. 1. List of things I would need to do to get this site up and running. 2. Technical stuff I would need to know (I have experience in web development, but i have no exp. with ecommerce.). Would I need to do some development work or is the eshop template they provide basically the entire site and you just have to plug in your logo, content, etc. is this relatively straightforward to do? 3. List of other stuff to know like how to set up the payment process. How would I link my bank account (e-merchant account?) to the ecommerce site to accept payment, etc. Not familiar with this process and would appreciate detailed explanation. Please help.. not just put up a link to some web hosting site and say all the answers are there. Thanks in advance

I don't have experience with that particular product, but my experience with 1 and 1 on other products is horrendous. Horrible service. High level of down-times. A "technical support" function that consists of saying "we apologize" in different manners of broken English.
