Domain Search
What should I received after a domain search engine submission?
My web designer just submitted my domain into the search engine. What should I receive from him for my domain if anything?
The minimum is for the search engines to include your site in their database
Whether your site will show up for keywords related to the site is an entirely different matter. That will depend on the meta title of your site, quality of content, compliance with the webmaster guidelines of the search engines
Can anyone tell me an accurate domain search ?
Whenever I use the Yahoo domain search it tells me certain domains are available but when I come to buy them it then tells me they are not available, kinda makes u mistrust every search it does.
I really like http://www.dotster.com
Aside from the normal availability checks, there's also some tools to look for similar domain names that might be available.
I'm also impressed with the amount of management tools that dotster gives a person for their domain. Some are free, some at a fee. They've also added hosting, but I don't use that (and they do ask you if you want it with each registration .... argh).
Good Luck!
How important is having your own domain name for good search enging ranking?
I've always heard that it's important to purchase your own domain name for good search enging ranking, but I see plenty of good websites on the first pages of searches that don't have their own domain name.
Should be *engine* not enging...sorry!
A domain name can make your site seems more professional and usually easier to remember. However, the ranking is mostly based on the page's popularity and the content's relevancy to the user's search input.
How do I add a "Domain Name" search box to my website?
Does anybody know how to add a "Domain Name" search box to a website/webpage? Something similar to the Domain Search tool found on the Yahoo Small Business page. I would like people to type in a Domain name to check for availability. If anyone knows how to add one to a webpage please help
You will need to sign up as an affiliate with a leading domain name registrar. Once they accept you as an affiliate, you can then log in to your control panel and go to the promotion section which will give you the HTML code for the search form.
Is there any way to find what page of search results my domain falls in?
I manage a website for some friends of mine and it doesn't show up in Yahoo search or in google search. The domain is http://www.copureoil.com/ an all natural hand made pure coconut oil (just in case anyone is interested - sorry for the plug). Any ideas on how to boost my ranking, or at least figure out which page I rank on?
I can't help you find it but to improve its ranking you need to get as many links as possible to your web site. Go to sites that have anything to do with your product and see if they will trade links.

Where can I get a Domain name availability search script where people can search for new domains?
My client is looking for a free Domain name availability search script to put on his site so people can look up domain names..
Where can I get a Domain name availability search script where people can search for new domains? - Thanks!
You didn't mention if you want the results posted on his web page or if the results button can take you to another results page.
If it is anothers page you don't need anything other than copy the HTML off the WhoIs or other Domain search site and the button will take you right to that page.
If you want more than that here are the links to some CGI scripts that do what your needing:

How do search engines consolidate query results from the same domain?
If a search query returns multiple results from the same domain, how can we restrict showing only two or three results from the same domain. We considered using domain ID's and tying them to our document ID's, but believe that our index would be significantly larger and the process slower.
If linking domain ID to a document ID in the index would slow the process down too much, can you think of any other way to present a search so that the pages from the same domain is presented only a maximum of 3 times on a search query. Can this be done in the search algorithm stage without domain IDs?

how do I have my domain set up on your search listings?
I am a new business owner and just got my domain registered for my business. I want people to be able to search through Yahoo or anywhere else for my website.
at the very bottom of the yahoo page it says "submit your site" in small letter click on that and then you list your site to have it show up in search results.
