Domain Registration Web Site Hosting

Is there a site that offers free web hosting with no banners?
Also should NOT require domain registration, forum posting or anything like that. Scripting and database access a BIG plus. It can be invite-based, if you have an invitation to offer me.

pls advice me to open one web site?
i am planing to open one web site in a small scale budjet. can u advise me , which site wil provide all the things like domain registration , free web tools , hosting and email facility in cheap rate.

If you are a true novice and don't want to spend much time learning how to make a site, I would suggest the current super-popular MySpace. You can quickly get your information up for all your friends to see. If you are interested in something more, but still fairly simple try GeoCities or Yahoo. If you are willing to learn HTML I would suggest ATSPACE.COM. You can create a website for FREE up to 50MBs in size. I have two websites through them and the uptime is great. NO ADS. You'll need an ftp program to upload your stuff. There's a good free one for personal use called "FTP Explorer". Of course you'll either need to learn HTML or use one of the WYSIWYG programs like FrontPage or DreamWeaver to actually design your site. e-mail me if you need some help... If you want your own domain and have it hosted, I suggest ReadyHosting. You get 1GB of space unlimted e-mail accounts, FTP access and domain name registration all for $99 a year. Web hosting site (FREE): http://www.atspace.com Web hosting site (COST): http://www.readyhosting.com FTP Explorer site: http://www.ftpx.com A couple of my websites: Pioneer Baseball Website (ReadyHosting - Cost) http://www.pioneerbaseball.org My Son's Travel Team's Website (ATSpace.com - FREE) http://tricountytitans.atspace Family Website (ATSpace.com - FREE) http://tim8w.atspace.com

Can you suggest a web site hosting similar to Go Daddy?
Hi, I have an account with Go daddy. I use their web site tonight 5 page site builder. I have private registration. in Short, i pay like $75 which includes domain. a year which is reasonable. But, i would like to explore options and get a 3-page site builder for less money. if you are familiar with this company, maybe you can help suggesting another Hosting co. that has a simple web site builder too. I know there are lots out there. thanks in advance

Hi Claire, When choosing a web host it's of course important to consider the cost (some hosting can be very expensive) but here are some other important things you should take into consideration too: Web Hosting Space: Some web hosts will only give you 500MB or so of space. This could be a concern if you are looking at creating large websites. Bandwidth: Some web hosts will severely limit the bandwidth you can use before you incur extra charges. Uptime: There's no point in having a website if people can't see it. Does your web host offer at least a 99% uptime guarantee? Number of websites allowed: If you're looking to host more than one website on your account, will your web host charge you more to do this? Support: If you have any problems you need to be able to contact your web host quickly and easily to get the problem sorted. I have used Hostgator as my web host for over two years now and have been very very impressed with them. Firstly they're very cheap but still give me more web hosting space and bandwidth than I'll ever need, the ability to host unlimited websites, a 99.9% uptime guarantee and great customer support. They also have a great free website builder which is very simple to use but you can create great sites (of any size) very quickly. You can find them at http://www.webhostgator.info Hope that helps Claire. Regards, Kirstie

What is a good web hosting company to use?
Other people have asked this, but I haven't been happy with the answers. Any help would be very much appreciated on this. There is so much marketing junk out there I can't tell the good companies from the bad. So I'm looking for suggestions. I need to host a web site. Here is what I need: 1. Scalability. I want to start small and grow, so it will have to be a company with a wide range of "service plans." 2. Trust. I don't want a company that offers free domain registration. I don't trust it, and it seems like a scam to me. They register the domain, they own it. I already own my domain. I don't trust a company that wants to own other's domains. Likewise, I don't trust a company that puts emphasis on things like the number of e-mail addresses they offer. "Now with 5000 e-mail addresses!" looks like a distraction to me. 3. Reliable and affordable almost go without saying. But I'd be willing to pay a little more for better service. 4. Freedom to advertise. I noticed some hosting companies have restrictions on what kind of advertising you can have on a site. I want to be able to put whatever kind of advertising I want on my own site. 5. PHP Thanks for your help guys. Thanks Bonnie, but I'm not looking for a free site. JT, I'll check them out and see what other's say as well. The immediate red flag for me with netfirms is the "free domain registration." Sites like godaddy are exactly what I'm not looking for. The scandals they've had recently, combined with the way they do business... that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid.

Almost everyone is offering a free domain, because their competition does it, so it's a nice selling point. But of course you don't have to use it. I use Namecheap for my domain names. If you're willing to pay $20+/monthly for a web host I recommend: 1. http://www.mediatemple.com 2. http://www.slicehost.com If you're looking for something cheaper I recommend Dreamhost: http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html (you can get $50 discount by using the promo code DNA) P.S. If you want to start small (something around $10) 1. Register your domain with a 3rd party (like Namecheap) 2. Buy hosting with Dreamhost, but choose the monthly payment option. ($10.95/month + $49.95 setup fee) 3. Use the promo code DNA to waive the setup fee. 4. Point your domain name to Dreamhost dns servers 5. This way you get cheap hosting, but with no long term contract, so you can cancel at any time and switch to another host if you feel you need more resources. 6. Switching is really fast, just backup your website content, upload it to the new host and point your domain name to your new host and that's it. P.P.S. I've been using Dreamhost for over 2 years, hosting over 20 sites with them, and they've been great so far, but it's nice to keep your options open.

Reliable, few complaints web hosting company?
I host a web site and 1 out of 20 times that I may randomly check the site, it's down!!! Anyone have a clue on how I can find out who is reputuable? Reliable? Few complaints? In a hosting company? Other than yahoo? I don't like yahoo's one year at a time registration of domains..not good if you're serious. Any advice?

If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months' time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account. I would like to suggest following webhosting which I use, they are excellent. Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukenden/ They offer hosting of "unlimited domains" and you will get massive webspace of 300000 MB (300 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer "a free Domain Name" and installing service called "Fantastico". By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer "Free Website Builder" as well. Visit the site to check details. Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukenden/ More hosting visit http://www.nicewebhosts.com FREE AD-FREE HOSTING. Please help me with my website!?
I want to start my own website. I had one before. It was Yahoo's Site Builder, but I didn't like it because it was very limited. I could only use the tools they gave me to make the site. But I did like that I got how many pages I wanted and that I got to pay the low price of 13 bucks a month. So with all my likes and dislikes, can you help me decide: What web hosting What domain registration What web designers (or should I try it again?) -If there is something similar to Yahoo's Sitebuilder, or a place where I can get everything in one package, please let me know. Thanks so much and God bless!

For a web host, please check out webmasters.com. I've used them in the past and they are really reliable. $9.95/month you get 100GB of disk space, 1000GB data transfer/month, a control panel where you can upload, edit and monitor your account, check your email, as well as custom applications you can add such as a shopping cart and a site search engine. For your web design question, they also have a website builder feature included in the account (http://www.simplehtml.com/) if you would rather create a site this way rather than coding it by hand. For domain registration, I use networksolutions.com, but they are $35/year per domain, cheaper per year if you pay for more than 1 year up front. Another popular domain registration site is godaddy.com. I've never used them but I think their domain registrations are $9.99/year. Note: When checking web host providers, see what each one has to offer to suit your needs. Many will have databases, PHP, ASP, custom applications, disk space and bandwidth transfer.
