I buy and sell regularly. I find I buy about three domain names for every one I sell. I try to buy from the lowest cost registrar and sell on Ebay. I make about $20 per sale so its not a full time job. The registrar I use is http://www.TemeculaValleyDomains.net they are the cheapest and have for sale pages for free.

I bought a domain name and sold it for 15 times what I paid for it. Fluke?
I am pretty good with coming up with catchy titles. So for fun, I checked a list of for-sale domain names. Bought a cheap one, had an offer from someone who REALLY wanted it. Sold it for 15x the price. I didn't ask why the person wanted it, but do you think this was just a fluke? I know there are all these sites that give suggestions on how to make a profit this way, but I see it more as an art form that can't be taught. It doesn't seem likely one can predict what domain name is going to just be the right one for a buyer. What do you think?

Well a lot of people do this, so I don't think its a fluke. Some domain registrars offer services to make this more automated.

Four letter domain name for sale?
I've got a four letter domain name with a .co.uk suffix, what price could I sell it for?

Four letters domains (LLLL.com) are not available since November 2007 but I don't know if .co.uk will cost the same as the .com, but a four letter domain can cost up to $5,000 depending on what letters contain the domain.

Use sedo.com they can advertise and broker it for you. A domain name is different from a website. A domain name is like having a piece of land with nothing on it. A website is when you build a house on that land. Thus selling a website is the domain plus the contents whereas selling a domain name is just that - the http:// address. If it's a good one it can fetch you a tidy income. Good luck
