The good thing about Dynadot is that there is no minimum purchase required to utilize the grace deletion function. You can use this service with a single registered domain. Hope this helps. domain name registry in texas?

You mean is there a domain REGISTRAR based in Texas? The Registry is the authoritative database record holder for a compiled list of registrations. For .com and .net, it's currently managed by VeriSign. Instead of registering domain names directly (due to contract restrictions), the Registry has a select group of companies called "registrars" to do the registration and management directly. One registrar I know that's based in Texas is GKG.net. I've not used them so I don't know how effective and efficient they are.

If I bought a domain name from Yahoo?
A domain name from Yahoo a few months ago, how come I'm getting a bill for $30 from the "Domain Name Registry of America" for that domain name? They want the money by August 28th. What's up with that? They're telling me if I don't pay up it will mean "loss of your online identity." I am dismayed.

1) Go to www.networksolutions.com. 2) Scroll to the bottom of the page. 3) At the top of the grey portion of the page, in blue letters look for WHOIS. Click that link. 4) In the text box labelled "Enter a search term:" enter your domain name and click Search. 5) This may be a little hard to find, but in the details about your domain registration you need to find the following information: a) Sponsoring Registrar b) Expiration Date c) Status d) Created On It is possible/probable that even though you are purchasing from Yahoo! they are then purchasing thier domain names through a third party. Sponsoring Registrar: If this is not listed as the Domain Name Registry of America (or possibly an abbreviation) then you may be a target of a phishing scam. Expiration Date: If the Registrar is correct and this date is approaching then you need to take care of your annual renewal. Status: Should be "OK" Created On: Should be equal or close to the date you purchased. If you still have questions please do not hesitate to contact me directly via email. I own a web hosting company and deal with issues such as this on a regular basis. I would be happy to answer any further questions you may have or offer some advice at no charge.

Domain name registration, SEO, Affiliates, and more...?
Does any one have any ideas about setting up a domain name registry, sources of info, resources, and any other related particulars?? I'm looking to start a domain site, either as a registrar (direct) or as an affiliate (third party). Which affiliates are you familiar with, and how has their service been? What technical difficulties have you encountered? What experiences have you had with a registration site, and what would you like to see as part of the service? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Here is my reseller site: http://www.TemeculaValleyDomains.net Very easy to set up. It took me about 5 min. from start to finish. I make about $30 per month.

There are many domain name registries, how do I find a reputable one, one that will be in business next year?

If you're fine with a blunt answer, you'll be hardpressed to find a reputable provider "that will be in business next year". There are 2 realities here: 1. The registrar you're using could go bankrupt (which so far I've found only like 3 cases for the past 7 years), or: 2. The registrar you're using could be acquired by another (which has been going on for the past 2 years). Next best thing is to go with one who's been around for years and will likely be around for years to come. And manage your expectations accordingly.

we registered our domain name columbusbarhopper.com in registry; why does it not appear in your search engine
it appears on google--get with it!!!

It seems as if you're trying to contact Yahoo! Search Marketing. You can find that at this site: http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/ Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

how can i understand the exact expire date of my Domain name?
can i be sure that at this date my domain will expire? in whois.com this text was displayed: NOTICE: The expiration date displayed in this record is the date the registrar's sponsorship of the domain name registration in the registry is currently set to expire. This date does not necessarily reflect the expiration date of the domain name registrant's agreement with the sponsoring registrar. Users may consult the sponsoring registrar's Whois database to view the registrar's reported date of expiration for this registration.

Well it means that they(whois) get an expire date from the provider, but it can change. if the day of expire comes they still can extend it.

Domain Name Transfer ---- help !!!!!!?
Hi guys, My Domain fee last year was $9.95 & all the sudden they bumped it up to $19.95 I want to stay with the current host….because I would hate to star setting up my website all over again! So my question is…. Can I just re-new my Domain Name with another registry & still keep my host? Or am I required to but the domain name for the host? Help please!!!!! Any info of how to go about it will help greatly

You will need to transfer your domain name to another host. This is not a big deal and is done everyday. Find the hosting company that has prices that you like,,,then contact them and ask them to assist you transferring your domain name to their service. They will be more than happy to assist you to transfer your domain name. It will not change your web hosting service as they are usually held by different companies. I have GoDaddy for my domain service and AddAction for my web hosting....Just make sure you check the prices before you contact the domain service you choose.

when I register a new domain name with yahoo or go daddy or whomever where does go. can I own it for life.?
I want to register a domain and own it for life as long as I pay for it. Once I pay for the name and its approved where does the final registry sit , with whom and is it mine forever as long as I pay.

Yahoo is known to be quick... I rather go with Yahoo, since it is spam free and it is a name you can trust. They have cheap prices as well. And yes the domain you buy from a provider is yours. But if you buy a package like a host + domain is free, the company can find a way to steal that from you. So buy the domain separated.. and Then buy the host. But for Yahoo, if you buy something it is yours 101%... Unless you do illegal stuff, USA will bound to take it. So your under USA laws. If your afraid of that buy it from europe.

Change computer name without unjoining domain?
is there a way to change the computer name without unjoining the domain (XP Pro)? because i wan to retain the current user profile.any ways like changing some values in the registry?

You can change the computer name without unjoining the domain, but you will have to supply the username and password of the administrator. To keep things clean you should delete the old computer name out of the dns. Just make sure you rename your computer to something thats not already used on the network or you will have issues. Anyway it's not necessary to unjoin the domain to rename the pc.
