Domain Hosting Reviews

I want to create a site for restaurant reviews & want to find the best place for a domain name with hosting.?
I'm willing to pay a little extra, if necessary, for something that is both reliable and simple (simple as in easy to build the webpage that I'd like). I'd prefer a site that handled the domain name, web hosting and e-mail account(s). I appreciate any advice. Thanks. :)

Need help choosing a domain host?
There are so many choices.. and when i look for reviews on google it only gives me negative reviews for that domain host. I'm really new to this as in I've never owned a domain before, I usually just use freewebs. Here is what i want to do with my website: personal website for displaying my artwork, pixel art, graphics i've made, hand crafts i've made. I want to be able to put my blog up, and be able to sell some things like diy jewelery and clothes from time to time, but not profusely, only when i've got something to sell. I also already know html/css and want to be able to use that instead of a pre-made template. I was going to go with hostmonster, but now i'm seeing negative reviews for that too. Please help me!! ):

What Web hosting that comes with free domain would you recommend?
Hi I'm building my online portfolio, and now I'm looking for a web-host. Would you pls tell me what cheap web hosting you would recommend me to use (probably the one you're using)? I prefer the webhost itself covers the domain name.. I've actually looked it up on the net and saw some people recommend Hostmonster.com Have you had experienced with this? Because I'm a little skeptical that perhaps the reviews are just one of its marketing tactic or something.. I'm really in need for a reliable info abt this. Thanks in advance :)

Here is a review of top 10 web hosting, they are really cheap, and most of them are come with free domains, you can take a look. http://digg.com/linux_unix/Top_10_Web_Hosting_Review_in_2008

What techniques can I use to get a position as a blogger?
I am a 16 year old writer trying to make it in the blogging world. I know it is a competitive market and that I don't have the proper education. I am not looking to make it pro, but just to extend my writing techniques and open doors for the future. I just want to write about topics that are happening such as piracy and DRM, street racing, music reviews, technology reviews, and anything else that I can find that needs to be heard by other people. Can anyone help me with some direction on where to start or any positions/connections they have? I am willing to do intern style work even if it involves me not getting paid, I truly just want to write. I am getting ready to purchase hosting, domain, and get a word press setup.

I registered a domain...Now what?
I've been going back and forth for hours trying to figure this out. I set up a website, and purchased a domain through godaddy.com. I understand that I need a web host, which I am still working on. x10hosting.com isn't working right when I try to use my own domain. Another hosting site requires that my sign-up be reviewed by a human, and could take up to 24 hours. I will try to find another free host that won't do these things. Anyway, once I've got the domain and the host, how do I "link" them? Various videos vaguely describe inputting a username and password to ftp the files to the host. The godaddy page doesn't give me any important information with my domain, such as a password or a PIN. Does it want my domain registrar (in this case, godaddy)'s account UN and PW? I hope someone here can clarify this, I'd be very grateful. Also, are there any no-fuss free web hosts. Thanks in advance for your help. I can't thank you enough for your help. It worked perfectly, and I now know what to do from now on. Thanks!

The next step would be to point the domain name to your hosting providers nameservers. The page below explains this. Read the section "Changing Nameserver(s) for your domains" http://help.godaddy.com/article/2227 Once you have the domain pointed to the correct nameservers then the rest of the configuration is done in your hosting account control panel. You need to configure an 'add-on' domain. You should follow the help documentation on your hosting account on how to do that. I can't tell you exactly how to do that as I don't know what type of control panel they use.

web hosting service: does it even really matter which one?
I'm working on finding a new web hosting service for my site, and I have no idea which one really to go to. I already have the domain registered and up on my current server, I need to transfer it to the new one. From there I'm going to update the website. There's a variety of features I'm adding, like pod casts and accepting credit cards, but it doesn't seem like you need anything really specific from a server for that if you use pay pal and just inbed a music player script or something. Right now I really don't know who to go with, I'm thinking yahoo because they're a solid company, they're more expensive but I honestly just hate those companies that do the sponsored reviews or whatever. Does anyone know any other companies with a lot of users that has been around for a while that seems pretty solid? No phony ones with lots of stars and exclamation marks and stock photos of happy people on their laptops. Companies not to use is good too, and things to look out for.

I use ReadyHosting. Very reasonable ($99 / year for 100GB of space). Very reliable. (99.9% uptime) ReadyHosting: http://www.readyhosting.com

Will anyone purchase a domain name and pay to transfer it to my web host if I do a full partnership?
I have a website with the url of www.baseballnetwork.ning.com Its a pretty good site that has gotten pretty good reviews, but whats holding me back is my lack of a domain name. This is a side hobby, just for fun, and I will not pay for a domain name. If anyone will agree to pay the transfer fee and the x amount of dollars for the domain name I will place their name into the title or do a huge advertising plan with their company name/logo at the top of my page. The site is fairly new and I haven't spent a great deal of time working on it but if i can get a domain name I would be willing to put a lot of time towards it. For more details email me at baseballnetwork@live.com

That seems like an awful lot of work. Are you aware that you can get a domain name for $10-$12 per year? I have several just-for-fun websites and I have domain names for them all. For around $1/month it's hardly an expensive hobby.
