Domain Hosting Cpanel
Domain Name Hosting Issues!?
I posted a question earlier on about not being able to host my domain name in a webcity account which I already have and lots of the replies I got where that my DNS for the name was wrong. I checked this and it is NS1.WEBCITY.COM.AU and NS2.WEBCITY.COM.AU like my other domain. How do I add this domain (lotsoflollies.com) into my (schoolwork08.com) hosting in Cpanel? A tutorial would be good!
It seems that you have to add the lotsoflollies.com to your CPanel. You can find "add domain" or "add site" or "domain management" in your CPanel.
Try the documentation on official CPanel site.

What option should i do in cPanel if I bought a domain with godaddy and I want to go to my website?
My host is l4rge.com the cPanel has different things under the domain name section: subdomains, redericts, addon domains, parked domains. Which should i use to set the domain name from godaddy with my site?
P.S: Please read my question thoroughly before answering, this is the second time I've had to ask this because people on yahoo answers give me answers for a different question..
Hi Luke
Okay, let me get this right - you've bought a domain name through godaddy and you want to add it to you hosting account at l4rge.com?
There are a couple of things you need to do:
1) Log into your cpanel account at l4rge.com
2) Select Addon Domains
3) New Domain Name - Enter the new domain name here
4) Subdomain/ftp username - enter the ftp username to access the new domain
5) Document root - give the name of a folder that will be created inside your home directory and will contain your new domain's files
6) Password - choose a password for ftp
7) Repeat Password
8) Hit Add Domain!
Your domain will now be setup on your hosting account but you still need to do some work at godaddy.
1) Log into your godaddy account
2) In the menu select Domains > My Domains
3) In the list of domains that are presented, tick the box of the domain you are setting up
4) Click on the Nameservers icon
5) In the Nameserver screen, select Custom Nameservers
6) In Nameserver 1 enter:
ns1.l4rge.com
7) In Nameserver 2 enter:
ns2.l4rge.com
8) Hit OK
You have now done everything that you need to do to setup the domain correctly, but it may take up to 48 hours for this to take effect because once you make the changes on godaddy, it can take a long time for the changes to be distributed out onto the internet (this is called propogation)
If you have any problem, then give me an IM or drop me a message

How do you access the control panel/cpanel on a UK2 domain?
I bought a domain and hosting package from UK2 but I have no idea how to upload my files on to the site. The hosting package description claimed that my package came with "cPanel 11". Where do I access this? I've asked UK2 but I still have no reply. A good answer would be extremely helpful.
I've tried what Dutchie said but the page isn't displayed and the most likely cause is "Some content or files on this webpage require a program that you don't have installed."
How about reading all the documentation?
Maybe this will help

how to limit hosting periods in Cpanel (like 2/4 months)?
Some of my clients are registering domains outside and hosting with me. But every year they renew their domains and not renewing the hosting account. But the hosting account is active and they are using it as FREE. So how to limit the period of hosting like 6 months or 12 months in Cpanel & HELM Control Panel?
Replies appreciated..
Anil
Have you tried auto pilot with start date of payment and the expiration date with a password that is logged with only you (the control panel) upon first payment and the expiration date.. it would run much like a membership site with payments set on auto renewal unless the client chooses to opt out. or go manual meaning month to month with no payment made by the expiration date, the membership (hosting service) would then be automatically shut down unless you say otherwise ( grant alternative permissions)
I've read alot of TOS/user agreement policy's.. it should be in there to cover your back...
Lets say you offer 1 month at $xx 3 months at $xx 6 months a year etc.. from the start date of the payment for hosting,
( separate from that of domain registrations ) the up time is set "with" the payment cycle.. suspension(if any) is set with non payment with the result ending in -permanent shut down.. space resold
Some hosting providers offer a 30 day refund a few offer 60 days on a refund while some will not refund anything at all. which ever you decide on must be in your TOS or user agreement policy. the amount of refund time ,again, if any, on what you offer should and could be placed anywhere on your site.. including or limiting to the tos/user agreements. Personally I like them much more when its in plain sight
did yahoo hosting give a cpanel ?
hi i wana to know if yahoo paid host give a cpanel whene you buy a domain + space

Yahoo hosting doesn't use cpanel, for a list of hosting plans that offer cpanel, go to http://www.hostingmatrix.org , compare all hosting plans, and take a look at the "Control Panel" row.
Domain changing in Cpanel???
Got a new domain name, for my hosting account with eukhost that already has a domain on it, ive gone on addon domains, added it, how do i make it the default to upload files to, and how do i make sure that it comes up with the documents and stuff on the actual website? if you get what i mean ?
If you are changing the MAIN server name it is much easier from SSH. See this article
http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/08/17/how-to-change-hostname-in-cpanel-web-host/
This assumes you OWN a dedicated Cpanel Server and not a reseller account. If you only have a reseller or simple user account, have your host change your account name - you can't.
how can i edite my sub domain???
i made a sub domain in my cpanel host and then i wanted to upload phpbb for forums but i can not go to this subdomain ftp.

How to make a website for a newb!?
I am completely new to making a website. I have my own domain and hosting service i registered for a year. The hosting is cpanel. I just want to know how would I make the website from scratch. I heard of programs that you can use so you don't have to put any codes in yourself. Thanks four your help!
well ur hosting provider actually uses Cpanel as an administrative and management tool for you. Cool Beans now call up ur hosting provider and ask them to install a sitebuilder into ur Cpanel, or you can develop and test ur sites locally using DreamWeaver or WebDeveloper and FTP them to ur home directory on the hosting services server. U should have FTP/HTTP/ and possibly SSH access to the server depending on wether ur local or not, just know that will up ur bandwidth for the month =),,
I like expression but i noticed that it did some funky stuff with FTP for for a client one day, saved the file with some metadata that turned up garble on the other end of the pipe.
After I registered a domain and hosted a website,?
I was given a CPanel URL and a server hostname.
Can anybody tell me what they are for?
Also when I login, do I use my customer no or my username?
Your CPanel URL, hostname, passwords are required in order for you to add your developed website to your webserver.
Your webhost will need to tell you what your login information is, so I suggest that you contact them asap.
If you need help developing your website, feel free to send me an email.
How do you start up your website?
I got a domain name (and hosting) from Urlfreedom.com. So far I have been able to log on to cPanel through the IP, but not the domain name (checkitout.com) how do you set it up to log on on the domain.
The domain name has to be associate with the IP address. It's up to your hosting service to do that: you need to contact them and ask them how long it will take. It's not instantaneous. That info has to propagate around the 'net and show up in the name servers. Take a close look at the policies of your hosting service and make sure that they are actually doing this for you; you may need to purchase a hosting package.
