Do i need a dedicated server for a vbulletin forum?
Im a starting a project here, do i need a dedicated server and a webhost? whats the difference between the two? Thanks

If you get a dedicated server, they will probably have a space allocation and you will pay for bandwidth. A dedicated server is one which you have rented and the entire machine is used for your needs. A webhost has a huge server with lots of capacity and disk space and they allocate a chunk of it to you for which you pay rent. Good luck.

I want to create a website with a forum.. Where do I start?
For free if possible with a dedicated URL.. If I had to pay for a server, what's the cheapest I could pay for hosting and all that mess.. I really don't even know the basics on this, and how it works.. Could someone crack an egg of knowledge on me?

To create a website with a forum you need a domain and webhosting.As an experienced webmaster I recommend purchase your domain and webhosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some webhosting companies offer this as a gift . I use bluehost webhosting for my websites I was a newbie a while back ,I have an excellent experience with Bluehost webhosting.I have called them several times for configuring my SQL database and some php stuff and every time they have solved my problems . Nobody can join my servers!!!?
How do i get people to join my standard servers and my dedicated servers. I have looked through every forum and have found nothing on how to change firewalls and routings. I know it has to be simple! I've disabled my firewalls but i still can't get anyone to come through to play. People have tried to join but it rejects them... What do i have to do? plz give me the steps that it takes to do this task. Thanx o.. and also i have DSL>>>>1365 kbs download and 643 kbs upload.

I assume you are using Windows XP. What is your PC's IP address. * Start * Control Panel * Network Connections. You should see something labeled. LAN or Local Area Network. * Right click on it * Select Status. * Click the Support tab. If IP address is like 192.168.x.x then you are behind a router. If not then skip to "The PC" "Behind a router" And you will likely see a Default Gateway of 192.168.x.1 or 192.168.x.254. You will need to use DMZ or Port forwarding. You will need to the login username and password for the router. You can usually connect to the router with the following link. http://192.168.0.254/ Replace the numbers with the ones listed for your Default Gateway. DMZ is the easiest way. But it opens that computer directly to the internet. Bypassing the router as a firewall. "The PC" You need to allow it to recieve the incoming connections. The quick way: Completely disable any and all firewall software. NOT Recommended except to troubleshoot. Better method: Allow the program access to the internet through the firewall software. Allow the servers needed ports through the Firewall software. All this heads you on the right track and is not to be considered a complete answer in itself.

Should I buy a 360? Read Before Answering?
This is the Xbox forum, so the majority of answers are going to say I should buy it without even reading this, but hear me out. I am a huge gamer. I own a PS3 and a Wii, and six games on each platform. Is the 360 worth the money? I am really satisfied with my other systems, the PS3 in particular, but there are a few exclusives on 360 I want to play. Ex. Gears of War 1 and 2, Dead Rising, and Bioshock. However, it also seems the 360 doesn't give much for the $. My 60 gig PS3 has built in Blu-ray (which I use ALL the time), built in web browser, free online play (I play CoD 4, Motorstorm, Warhawk, and Resistance all the time) with dedicated servers, and complete backwards compatibility. Also, I will be buying all the following PS3 games in 08. Resistance 2 Motorstorm 2 Gran Tourismo 5 Metal Gear Solid 4 Final Fantasy 13 Little Big Planet Killzone 2 Haze Thats a lot to spend. Is getting a 360 on top of all that worth it? What about RROD, w/30% failure rate? Also, what are your thoughts on the death of HD-DVD? It seemed like a great format (although I did prefer Blu-ray). Also, I don't want to have to buy all the extras for 360. PS3 has built in Wi-fi and Blutooth. Hey, fantastic answers so far. Thanks.

You are right about people being pro 360, I will be one of them but i can also be objective about my answer. I don't know why I care so much about my gamer score and achievements via the 360 but I do and many people in the community do as well. It sounds stupid but lot of times I will go back into a game to get a small achievement I am really close to getting and in turn adds a small dose of life back into a game that may be available via both PS3 and 360. Many people i tlak to that have both systems say they would buy the 360 version of a title available on both systems just because it would help increase their gamerscore. The graphics edge does go to the PS3 and free online is hard to turn up, but there are more online players on the 360 than PS3. I don't know many exclusive 360 games coming out in the near future worth any attention but between Bioshock (may not stay exclusive), Halo 3, and Mass Effect the 360 does offer some nice exclusives each being a unique experience. As far as the death of HD-DVD it was a death slowly coming and couldn't be avoided. There is always only 1 real video format VHS beat beta, DVD beat laserdisc, and now blu-ray beat HD-DVD. To be honest I couldn't tell a big difference between current DVD and next gen HD or bluray DVD, to me neither is worth an extra $300 investment. So bottom line should you get a 360? If you have about $500 burning a hole in your pocket then yea, that's about the price the system and 4 new games (or 7 used) would run you and take out a healthy slice of your life for a few months.

watch alot of anime online?

What we plan on doing is write if the are dubs or not in the title(ex: Wolfs Rain{english dub}) this will make thing a lot easier!
