Dedicated Hosting Provider
I need a good place to get a dedicated server for mailing which is not blocked by Yahoo (X-YahooFilteredBulk)?
My company is looking for a good mailing server which is not blacklisted at Yahoo since the last we got from ev1servers has it's IP listed and every mail we send to Yahoo users goes right to the junk folder and the mail headers contain the X tag X-YahooFilteredBulk)
What I'm looking for is a good hosting provider with a good reputation in order we can reach our Yahoo account holders customers without being blocked.
Best Regards.
I can provide a server as long as its not for bulk spamming. what sort of volumes woulf you be looking at
Have have been banned by Google Adsense for something i've not done. What can I do?
Well, as many innocent folks out there, I have been banned by Google AdSense for over a month and a half now under the rule of invalid clicking. What sort of company does this? Lifetime ban without providing information such as which website of mine was the source? Which day? Neither did they request any information eventhough i opened my arm wide open, offering full server access.
I have been a publisher since 2004 and wow from running a forum under a free forum provider into a self dedicated hosted. Over the years i have grown into a mass publisher, running numbers of website and publish them through AdSense. Revenues goes as high as $700 per/mon and for no reason, my work are all wiped forcing me to sell all the site due to the overdue server fee that i can no longer support. Im just a college kid? What can i do? Go legal? I dont have the money! Till today, with no site remaining, im still mailing them! Im still not giving up and face some life sentence for something i've not done!
Invalid clicks is a "catch all" term that they use, but it does not always mean that the publisher cheated. It can mean anywhere from clicking on your own ads, labeling the ads other than those allowed, inciting visitors to support the site and click on the ads, etc.
It will not be up to Google to prove to you how they caught what they deemed as fraudulent clicks on your site. They will not show you the IPs of those who clicked. Instead, explain to them in a very professional manner that you never caused invalid clicks and send them your logfiles to help prove your case.
You have to remember that the first responsibility of Google is to satisfy their advertisers, where the money comes from; and not the publishers. They need to protect the interests of advertisers at all cost. As a result, any clicks perceived to be less than above-board are investigated oftentimes leading to the cancellation of the account of the advertiser.
There have been cases of publishers whose account was initially disabled but reinstated from the program. Here are some threads from Webmasterworld.com of such cases:

If you think you've exhausted all means with Google Adsense, then I suggest you start applying to other programs. You can
1. Join an advertising network. Advertising networks are organizations that aggregate Web sites that offer advertising space, and sell banner ads (and other advertising options) across them. Traffic requirement is often a minimum of 5,000 monthly impressions, although many do not accept sites hosted by free page services.
Burst Media http://www.burstmedia.com
Fastclick (ValueClick). http://www.fastclick.com
Advertising.com. http://www.advertising.com
Tribal Fusion http://www.tribalfusion.com
2. Participate in other contextual advertising networks. Contextual advertising are text ads delivered based on the content of the web page using an automated system.
Yahoo! Publishing Network (currently in beta and available to US publishers only) http://publisher.yahoo.com/
Intellixt http://vibrantmedia.com/site/web_01a5.ht...
Quigo Adsonar http://www.quigo.com/adsonarexchange.htm...
IndustryBrains http://www.industrybrains.com
3. Sell advertising for your site directly. This is admittedly a more difficult route for a small business site wanting to earn advertising revenues. But hey, as they say: "no pain, no gain!"
How to optimize MySql query that needs a lot of: "Like %'$var'%"?
I need to search many fields in multiple tables using Like %'$var'% in my queries, but my hosting provider blocked my database because it overloaded their server. Any suggestions? I cant afford a dedicated server.
Hello,
I have used mysql directly, however one practice that my company uses with SQLServer is to use Nolocks on tables.
The syntax for Sqlserver is "select * from TableA (Nolock) ..."
Also if you are seraching a field in my different tables you could insert the data from all the tables into a temp table and then do a serach only on the temp table.
Question about Name servers?
I'd like to have my name servers for my domain like this
ns1.mydomain.com
ns2.mydomain.com
which will redirect to my main hosting provider and thus my website.
Any idea what it takes to have such proposal ? maybe a dedicated domain? or 2?
Kindly advise, Thank you
If you need to setup up your own name servers, then what you need are:
1. Two boxes (servers/desktops etc) with OS and name server software such as BIND or windows DNS server depending on the OS choice.
2. Internet connection or you can host these servers at a service provider location.
3. Two static public IP addresses to be assigned to the two servers
4. A registered domain name for which these will be the authoritative name servers.
Of course all of the above can also be done by the service provider whom you register your domain with.
Hope this helps
Anyone know of a cheap Disk space provider to work with current VPS?
I currently have a VPS that gives me VERY little disk space (like 10 GB) and it costs $0.01/MB/mo for additional space. So I was wondering if anyone knows of a cheap place to host files. I don’t need a whole hosting package; I just want a simple apache server with ftp access so I can host files on that server, then direct people to them from my VPS. That’s it. I’ve been looking at places like hostmonster and hostgator, but they have so many extra features that I will never use, and it seems like a waits of money to pay for a service I will never use. Also, something that comes with a dedicated IP would be nice; or it at least has the option to buy an IP.
Does anyone know? I’ve been searching everywhere, but I can’t find exactly what I am looking for.
I recommend Amazon S3
http://aws.amazon.com/s3/
or if you want something like hostmonster or hostgator
I recommend Dreamhost http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html
