if you have ever played css (counter strike source) you will know you can host your own server with bots. i was just wondering is there anyway you can host a server with real pepople without paying. thank you

Is there a way to play all the servers on CSS i got G-steam i can play about 5 or 6 but not all the servers.?

Css says I don't own the game and will not let me connect to any servers but I do own the game?
When ever I try to connect to a server it says that my account does not own the game but I do. I even have the box, disc and cd key to prove it. How can I fix this the problem has never happend before and I have had css for like half a year if not longer

try looking on the help/troubleshooting page you may need to update your account settings and game codes do they have a helpline for loading/run problems.

Is there any advantage in learning xml for someone who only knows basic html, css and javascript?
Should I learn a server side scripting language and a database before attempting to learn xml? I still don't exactly know what xml is used for, will I have a use for it if all I know is html,css and basic javascript?

XML is a generic way to store data. It generally isn't useful without knowing a programming language, and knowing about databases is generally more useful then knowing about XML. So - you'll _probably_ be best off learning a programming language and database before you worry about XML. (Incidentally, while AJAX might be a big thing at present, and while the X in it's name might stand for XML ... most AJAX doesn't involve XML, and uses fragments of HTML, plain text, or JSON instead)

In the command prompt search for the process: ps -A | grep hlds You should see output with a number at the front, use the number in the following command (instead of ????): kill -9 ???? This will stop your server. Without knowing further details about your setup, however, I can't tell you how to start it up again.

Are CSS Sprites and Imaging Slicing exact opposite techniques?
As I understand it, CSS Sprites involves loading ONE BIG image and then using background positioning to display it appropriately. Slicing on the other hand seems to involing taking one large image and CARVING it into many smaller images to send from the server one at a time. If so why would I want to use one and not the other? Is one approach better?

the benefit of only having a single image to download is that when switching out the image (perhaps on a rollover), there is no flicker or additional loading required - so it should seem more fluid. also, it saves having to create multiple files and name them x_off.gif, x_roll.gif, x_on.gif etc.

hi, i have a 26 man css server and am looking to put the prison/jail break mod on but cant find it anywhere and really ould like it if anyone knows where i can get it or some instructions regarding it that would be so helpfull thanks alot this is very very much appreciated

The HL2 Jailbreak mod is its own mod. You'd need a server for that, not CSS.
