Cpanel X
Help Setting up cPanel X website.?
I have a domain name ( www.checkitout.com) that is supposed to run on cPanel X. I have tried numerous things but have had a real hard time getting started. I've been able to log into the cPanel through the ip address. Can you explain to me all the steps in posting the website. I had no problem making it, but posting it just is beyond me. Just for the sake of simplicity let's do it with the file manager.
use FTP to Upload your website files under the public_html folder or log in to the Cpanel, go to File Manager and look for public_html folder. Remember put all your files under your public_html folder. If you dont want others to see your site yet, then made another folder within the public_html folder and then put all the files within the folder that you have just created and go to your web browser type in http://www.checkitout.com/nameofthefolder.

How do I uninstall MS Flight Simulator X or any other program from Vista Home Basic?
I go to Cpanel and Programs. Some programs are there and the rest are not (which according to MS is because unlisted programs wasn't made esp. for Vista), which is fine. However, when I click on MS Flight Simulator X Demo, there is no option to uninstall. While some programs have this option. Anyone know how to work around this - Vista bug? I searched the directory and there is no uninstall file?
Also what are the recommended HDD requirements to have freed up so your system will run well? I think having 10 GB free at all times should be enough?
Just go back to XP... Vista sucks... it's compatible with nothing and can do anything. That's the best advice I can give
How can I get access to a subdomain?
I have cPanel X and I created a subdomain, but I don't know how to get access into it to upload a website.
It should be as easy as creating a new FTP site in your FTP location under that address. Your control panel should show the new folder of that sub.domain.com already, as a subfolder of the domain. I don't know what system you're using, so I couldn't say exactly.
How much does webdesigner in the UK earn?
I'm still quite young but I'm quite capable of html, php, knows how to navigate around cPanel and MySql. I also know photoshop, frontpage, paintshop pro x, flash, video editing etc. I just decided to use these skills to earn money. I'm in the UK and I'm planning to become a freelancer webdesigner. I'm currently making my new website and planning to put the sites I've created before for free ( I could've made hundreds of £s for that but I've decided to make it for free) for my portfolio. At a young age, how much can I earn with these skills? Minimum and maximum? How much downpayment do they ask for? And how much does a professional webdesigner charge their clients compared to a freelancer? Thanks!
Why not start your own company? As a web designer myself I found out that there are two types of clients. One that wants a quick good looking, well working site, and two: one that wants an original site completely custom. Take a look at this article: http://www.modeltemplate.com/tips/general/introduction.html
Yahoo Mail stopped taking my forwarded mail on Sunday?
I noticed a decrease in volume of mail yesterday (Oct. 29) and when I tested all my mail routing, I found that yahoo was simply not putting the mail through TO ME, which I had been forwarding directly THROUGH my domain, with cPanel X. I have found no delayed mail, and it's not being bounced.
(I have temporarily -partially- fixed this by routing mostly through gmail. But this is all a pain to remake a bunch more filters, that probably will not work, if I try to make gmail filters do it all.)
I don't think THEY will cop to it. Nor do I think they have any interest in telling me what they did to foul up what is not a guaranteed right. It's a convenience that I have exploited (not in a bad way I think) but now it's being silently denied...
You should be asking THEM, not US to fix this issue ... try the other category Yahoo! Mail....
Omg, my webhost has been hacked by r00t-X?
Flipping hell. I didn't want this to happen...
"r00ted by r00t-x ((Gr33tz : eVil CeLL.. RoVer HaCKer)) c0ntact me>>r00tx@hotmail.com" is appearing on all my sites hosted ( 3 sites ) with http://www.fansrealm.net
It seems that his host has been hacked, which makes all of the hostees unable to access cpanel, or the site.
What can I do? Hacking is ilegal so should I contact federal agencys? Or what?
Thanks
Sorry, if you want the link to see it go to http://www.fans-realm.net
Thanks for your replies, but the thing is MY site hasn't been hacked specifically. my WEBHOST has been hacked. And I can't do anything. E-mail cant access, Site gets a network time out, cPanel doesnt work... I haven't tried FTP though..
FTP doesn't work
What the.... This is exactly the same thing that happened to my domain, http://poochycat.com. But I already replaced the pages with my customized message. Except for this one:
http://amfusa.poochycat.com/
Yes, that's actually the message that took over all my pages in my domain. I can't access my domain cPanel because that's the same thing I see in my cPanel index page. T_T
Many sites are being hacked at the same time on the internet. We're not the only unfortunate ones. And I don't think there's anything I can do about it but make my domain host revert everything and I'll have to start all over again. >_<
Damn hackers.

When i click on myphpadmin its shows:
User: example@localhost
would this be it????
Any help and maybe a guide on where to find mysql host would be apreciated
cheers
Host is the name or ipaddress of the machine that has the MySQL server installed that you're trying to connect to. If it's a local install try localhost, 127.0.0.1 or the actual name of your computer. If you're trying to connect to a remote server, you'll have to contact your system administrator.
I need help!!?
I'm a real begginer at websites, I know how to do the likes of css & loads of other stuff. But I have been using freewebs which is REALLY easy! & now that I finally have my own domain, I can't do half the stuff! What I really want to know is how to add pages to my website!
(e.g www.mysite.com/blah/blah.php
Know what I mean?)
Really begginer I know! But I have a SmartFTP & a cPanel account, what do I use to add pages?
Please answer this as soon as you read it! x
by the way, I know coding etc, I just can't create pages on my site!!
You can write the pages in a text editor, then transfer them to your site by ftp. A good option is to install wamp or a similar apache server on to your machine, so you can keep a whole copy of your site to test, edit there, and then copy over the edited files.
