Cpanel Server Hosting
Setting up Subdomain DNS direction using cPanel X server host panels.?
How do I need to type the redirect address.
Like this: http://website1.abc.com
OR
Like this: http://website1.abc.com 213.123.123.123
OR some other way?
In Cpanel, choose "Redirects"
in the first box type in the folder name of the subdomain (in your example you would type in "website1" w/out the qoutes).
In the second box you would type in where you would like the subdomain to forwarded to. ( in your example it would be 213.123.123.123, the http:// is added for you).
If your a noobie you may be confused by the first box. It'll read http://abc.com/website1 and your wanting http://website1.abc.com, be assured to your server, it is the same. Well okay not the same, but your server sees a subdomain as http://maindomainaname.com/subdomain/ and then the DNS system sends all request for that to http://subdomain.maindomain.com
Does that clarify things?
If not talk to your hosting support team. It's a very routine question I get from my clients, it probably is for them too. If they can't help you you need a new web host (see my co below).

Configuring reconds on server?
What I want to find out is how can I "forward" browser based traffic to another server #2, while allowing search engines and Google Bots to get sitemaps.xml from our server #1?
In other words, surfers are redirected to another server #2 hosting an application and content - while bots access files on server #1.
Lynx sever, cpanel, limited knowledge inhouse. Need to do this for 50+ domains.
Thanks for any help....
Mark
Take a look at this

You have to tell Google where your site map is located so it doesn't actually redirect anyway. It just is using it for indexing. Just change the XML appropriately for your other site(s).
Apache web server..?
Hi..
My hosting provider uses a apache web server..so I built a mysql database and interfaces..but I want to transmit the information over the internet securely..
My cpanel doesn't seem to have options for encryption..can anyone give me advice on going about this..
Thanks in advance.
You'll need to apply for, and set up, a secure SSL domain with your host.
DNS servers dont work for my domain?
i bought website hosting and my .co.uk domain from different companys and tried to setup my domain to the server my hosting was on, however, when i try and park my domain using cpanel, it says the dns servers are pointing to a different server. I used weycrest to purchase my domain and freshhosts to purchase my hosting
yes it has been more than a week
and i dont have enough permission to do an ip flush on the server
DNS changes can take up to a week to update. If a week has passed, and you're still not getting anywhere, be sure to contact the people you registered the domain with and see if they can help you out.
