Cpanel Host

Forgot password to website admin page. Is there a way to recover the password through the host cpanel?

Not exactly. (Although it depends what you mean by website admin page.) However, I'm guessing the password is stored in a database, in which you can login to cPanel, then go to databases, then select phpmyadmin and then edit the password manually.

Anyone know a good, cheap, cpanel host?
I'm looking to go paid hosting for the first time. I was wondering if anyone knew a good host. Here are a few required things. cPanel without RVskins or any other custom skins. PHP 4.4.X A lot of mySQL databases Unlimited Subdomains Under 10 bucks in price per month. Good Reviews Some things that would be really really nice: Fast Reliability Unlimited FTP's, E-Mails, ect. One thing that isn't required, but would love to have: PostgreSQL Databases. Thanks so much!

Can anyone recommend a host which a) has monthly billing b) is reputable and c) has cpanel?
As per the title. I'm looking for a reliable web host that lets you pay month by month. It should also be of a good name (so preferably one of the big boys) and offer cpanel 10 or so. I can't find any dependable hosts that have these three elements. Thanks for your suggestions.

I use 1&1. (One of the biggest hosts in the US.) They have great prices, good service and the BEST price on domain registration. For ~$6/year, you get a your own domain, a 5 page website, a 1G mailbox, an easy to use sitebuilder, etc. For more than that, use 1&1's hosting, you get the domain name(s) for free. Their least expensive hosting is ~$27/year. http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=8292866

I need help in moving files from one host to another. Both hosts use cpanel?
I have a problem. Due to poor service, I decided to move my site to another host. Before doing so, I did a full backup which saved to my desktop and in .tar.gz format. I also backed up mySQL as well as phpMyAdmin. How do I make all those files appear on my new host? Both hosts use cPanel. How can I make sure each folder and file in that folder is backed up and ready to restore with the new host? Bottom line is, I can't get my site to work. It is still down and has been for days.

Did you check with your new host about letting them transfer your files to them? Some do this as part of the new hosting service when you sign up. Otherwise, the way I would do it is to use a program like SmartFTP and open both sites in the Remote Server window and see if it will transfer using the Queue function. Otherwise, you will have to unzip your file and mirror the site on your hard drive, then use FTP to upload all files/folders. From the root, highlight all folders and files and drag/drop them into the Queue or Remote window. Ron

Where can i find a FREE host that offers cpanel as a side feature?
Well, I was just most recently kicked off my last host because they were suspicious that i had anime downloads on my forum (it was purely anime discussion, the idiotic fools!). I was very weary that it was going to happen, so I backed up my MySQL databases and website everyday to my computer and flash drive. So when it finally happened, I said I was royally screwed because I didn't have a host for my site. Anyways, can someone point me to a free or post4host webhost that provides cpanel as the controll panel. I also need ftp uploading, MySQL+PHP support, and at least 500 mb of webspace and at least 10 gb of bandwith.

Zymic (http://www.zymic.com/) is a great free webhost supporting both PHP and MySQL Databases. Some features included are: -Control Panel -2000MB of diskspace -35GB of bandwidth -PHP support -5 MySQL databases -No ads -Fast and reliable service -Free subdomains, TLD domains, and possible free TLD domains -And more! I hope you like this host. I was hosted by them before, and their server was never down and loaded quickly. Goodluck!

how to load css style sheet to cpanel?
I used a Css style sheet to make my website pages from templates. I use cpanel to host my site. I uploaded my pages, pics, etc. to the public area of my file manager in cpanel. However the css style sheet didnt take. The pages are unformatted. Where do I need to upload my Css style sheet to cpanel so it will effect my pages?

Your stylesheet will need to be located in whichever location is defined by the pages in the 'link' tag. The link tag can be found inside the page header and looks something like: The location of the required stylesheet is in the href attribute of the tag. Here, the style sheet should be in the same directory as the HTML file(s) and should be named style.css. To check whether your CSS file was uploaded successfully you can enter it as an address in your browser. So, for the previous example, if the page http://www.mysite.org/index.html didn't seem to be using the style, you could try http://www.mysite.org/style.css. If you get a 404, try uploading the file to the correct location again.

How do you access your cPanel for a site hosted by register.com?
Most places you just add /cpanel/ at the end of the domain name, for some reason this is not working!

Because register.com is cheapo and they made their own control panel. You'll have to log in to your account with them and find you plan and click on edit or control.... BAD!
