if you are working with an admin page (cpanel) how do you redesign the look of the site???
there are too many options to choose from.

CPanel itself is a Server Control Panel not a Site Design panel so unless there is a site builder of somesort installed you can't change the design of you site without editing the HTML! If you are on a content management system CMS of some sort then within its control panel you may have this ability.

How do I password protect a SINGLE directory?
I password protected /admin/ with cPanel, but I need /admin/uploads/ to be public. I tried to make /admin/uploads/ just /uploads/ but it screws up my script. Is there a PHP script I could use to make /admin/ private, but all the other sub-directories private? Thanks.

Your cPanel you are using likely creates a .htaccess file in your /admin directory. It is hard to check this as many servers hide this file and windows will not let you work with files that begin with a period. .htaccess files are recursive. In otherwords they control everything down stream. Until they meet another one to modify them. What you could try (if the .htaccess file is being used on the /admin directory). Is to use another .htaccess file in your /admin/uploads/ directory with the following: Require valid-user Allow from all Satisfy Any That will make any directories in that /admin/uploads/ to be guest access. Now to upload an .htaccess file: upload it as htaccess.txt do a rename to .htaccess if you want to delete it later do a quote command dele .htaccess

I need help setting up my email for my site "part 2" 10 points...?
Alright here is the deal, my domain name registred with a domain name register that isn't my web hosting. I need to know who to set up an email account "at" my web hosting site. "They use Cpanel if that matters" The hosting company support kind of sucks and takes for ever. So what do I need to do inorder to have my emails sent to admin@mysite.com? **Note** I can make the email account in cpanel thats not the problem. It's just getting them arrived at my site is whats wrong. I suppose it has something to do with the mmx records for my domain name. Am I right ? Can someone please refer a site I can read this at? Unfortunately, this answer DOES involve your hosting company for the most part. And it's just MX, not MMX. Basically, the mail server needs to be setup and the mail routed to the mail server... by the main router and post master and all that. If the host is that lousy, switch to a different one. As you control the register it takes less than 24 hours to update. This is important.

How do I make money off of this AJAX chat script I made when the client defaulted on the payment?
Hey, I recently created an AJAX chat for a client of mine. We didn't have any contract, and he ended wracking up $3000 worth in my coding that he didn't pay me (he won't sign on, reply to my emails, and he changed the password to the cPanel/FTP). The all-AJAX-chat includes profiles with AJAX updating, AJAX picture uploader/viewer, font options, AJAX changeable skins, an AJAX language changer/translater, emoticons, an admin CP that allowed the admin to edit/delete users and skins, AJAX login/registration with email confirmation, creating rooms with passwords, a chat filter, the ability to kick/ban users (for the admin), tools to edit the ads, filtered words, and kicks and bans, and a bunch of other things I know I'm forgetting. How can I make money off of my hard work? Can I publish the site myself? Can I re-sell it to someone? Multiple people? Can I do all of these? Is there any way I can get him to pay? He did pay for about of the fifth of the total cost of the website previously, so would it be legal to do any of these things? Help! Thanks!

Take this as a 'lesson learned'. When you do work for the next client, be professional about it. Quote him, have him accept the quote, then get paid 1/3-1/3-1/3. Do all the work on YOUR OWN web site, and then after he pays the first 2/3, make it operational on his and collect the last 1/3.

deleting something in windows vista?
i am trying to delete windows defender-- i cant for the life of me it says i need admin rights --I am the only user and in the user settings i have admin rights i disabled it from starting on boot i stopped it in another process tab i ran it as admin i cant get rid of it i uninstalled it from the add/remove in cpanel but it is still in the program files and even though i disabled it from start up it ALWAYS starts and blocks msconfig.exe from starting there for 30 useless process's start that i blocked in msconfig ughhhh help me get rid of windows defender

just go back to XP like the rest of us fools who bought Vista have.

Wordpress themes?
I have gotten a wordpress theme which I ordered and paid for (no baby themes in the free catagory suited what I wanted) I've uploaded the theme to my cpanel into the correct folder etc and the theme shows up in my wordpress admin. Trouble is the graphics aren't all showing up and I'm not sure what I need to do next. Tried putting url's of my photo bucket account for the graphics but word press won't allow me to edit the theme. What makes you think I'm new to this. :0 Help would be much appreciated as I'm about to get carted off by the guys in white coats. Yes, I uploaded all the files that came in the zip folder. I just uploaded them in the same folder that they come out of the zip in though. Am I supposed to upload them individually or doe's it not matter. The graphics I'm trying to add to the theme are graphics that go with it. I ordered the template http://cuddlecountry.com/cafe/ and had the banner changed. the banner is the main graphic that shows up at the moment, along with the background but about 6 other little bullets and small banner is missing although they are in the file I received. I'm not trying to edit in order to change it, just to have it looking as it should. I'm not having much luck with word press at all. grrrrrr! Not being able to edit the theme sounds like a permissions issue. Check that the web server has permission to write to the files and folders which contain your theme files, i.e. wp-content/themes and sub-folders. By graphics do you mean the theme's graphics or your content graphics? Did you upload all the files that came with the theme?
