Counterstrike Dedicated Server

What ports must I open to host a counterstrike 1.6 dedicated server?

when you want to create a dedicated server for counterstrike do you need a actuall server?


all ibm clones ( aka Pc) can act as server, as to having a machine powerful enough to handle the load? and your bandwidth? well thats another issue I use a dual xeon v8 quad core board with 8 gig memory and 12,500 rpm 05 scsi configuration with 6 terrabyte external hdd backup and I am on t3 speed yes I can do it flawlessly. if you only want a very limited amt of users, sure you can do it with almost any hi end broadband like cable of 8 Mbps or higher, as long as you have the processor power to ensure no lag and crashes, and you have to be willing to run the machine 24/7 and then micro manage the game play and all facets... its a bit more work than play but if you can afford to do it and dont mind the 24/7 managing of the systems/ sure go for it!
