How do I make my COD4 server know?
I have a new COD4 server located at 74.86.233.247:28960
I'd like to get regular people playing here. Anyone know any good practices to get servers known? Afterall, there are so many pubs to choose from, how do you make your server stand out?
A fast connection and machine for low ping latency can't hurt.
Also look at what maps are most popular and what game mode most people are playing.
Try to get friends to login so there are at least 3 or 4 people on the server and its not empty. A lot of people filter servers so that they don't see empty ones.
Make sure spawn times aren't too high.
Lastly maybe post it on some COD4 forums?
(You probably thought of all of these but hey I tried :-) )

I've used Worldsinchaos (hosting.worldsinchoas.com) They set it all up for you. I suggest getting Rcon v 0.6 to moderate your server.

I have a listen server on my PC for CoD4, how do i get friends to join, there is no IP to type in.?
I set it up with the start server option in CoD4 multipplayer, it runs and works for me but when my friend tries to join, he cant. Not even through Xfire.
you type in the ip by pressing that wierd looking wavy button at the top to the left of the 1 key.
Then you put CONNECT: IP ADDRESS and then enter

Everytime I enter a server I am the only player. I downloaded the v1.5 patch. How can I fix this and actually enter games with others.
probably because your nat settings are extremely strict. go to your firewall and enable access to all ip adresses and it should fix the problem
