Cheap Managed Hosting

good free hosting which supports joomla?
I'd like to install and try out the newer Joomla 1.5, but don't have an "extra site to play with" in order to install and manage content with it. I'm into web design by choice, but I'd like to play with it to see how it works as a CMS. Do you know of any free hosting sites (or cheap) where I can install and run Joomla on their linux server? essentially, I'm not sure if the free hosting's ad supported deal is compatible. so if you know if a cheap hosting place -ANYTHING BUT GODADDY- that i can seamlessly run joomla on, I'd appreciate it.

Try http://www.myownfreeweb.com/ they have joomla script already installed to make it easy to run, but if you want to run the absolute latest version before they upgrade it, you can always install joomla from scratch also. You will get 250MB disk space, 6GB bandwidth, 29 pre-installed scripts, MySql databases, and more. You get FREE hosting, FREE web site, and FREE sub-domain if you don't already have a Domain.

Which is better, Blogger or WordPress?
I'm providing a site containing information on employees. I would like to place ads concerning businesses that may offer services to the public or will be helpful to them. Would Blogger or WordPress be of more use? Which would be cheaper? I know WordPress offers some sort of VIP hosting, allowing me to manage ads, but I need to apply. Does it also have AdSense?

You cannot use Adsense on the free Wordpress -- see their FAQ which says that "Adsense, Yahoo, Chitika and other ads are not permitted to be added by users. Adverts that may be inserted when using an external blogging program will be blocked." http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/ To use Adsense with Wordpress, you need to use VIP Hosting. Note though that there is STEEP FEE for Wordpress VIP Hosting -- $600 to setup your site and $300 a month hosting fee. http://wordpress.com/vip-hosting/ Which is cheaper? Blogger.com allows you to use Adsense for FREE so that is definitely cheaper if your goal is to use Adsense You can even buy your own domain, and put the Blogger blog into your own domain -- and it will still come out cheaper with Blogger, though Wordpress has definitely better functionalities. But if you want to earn money from your blog, Blogger is more lenient and easier

My girlfriends and I have decided that since our guys get together and have boy's night's all the time... It is time for some serious chick fun =) I offered to host the night at my apartment and just want it to be a fun night for all. There will be probably around 5 +/- of us and we are all college students. We go to different schools but have managed to stay close so I want this to be a time where we can enjoy seeing one another again!! I was thinking about starting it off by going to the salon and getting our nails// whatever done and then going shopping... Then heading back to my place for some drinks and food and movies and stuff!! I'm looking for: 1.) Delicious girly drinks to make (I'm not exactly a bartender, so I don't really know how to make what!) 2.) Fun games to play 3.) Great movies to watch 4.) ANything else to occupy the time 5.) Cheap things I can put into goody bags and where to find them! Thanks =]

Little or no movement is required. Players: 2 or more players. Needed: Toes Rules: Everyone takes off their shoes. Take turns showing your big toe for all to see! Choose a panel of three judges. Give prizes to the winners of the following: 1. Whose big toe is the longest? 2. Whose big toe is widest? 3. Whose big toe is the hairiest? 4. Whose big toe has the most sock lint? 5. Whose big toenail is the longest? 6. Whose big toe is the prettiest? A WHAT? Objective: A game where you try not to get too confused! Categories: Adults, Ice Breakers Game type: Passive. Little or no movement is required. Players: 2 or more players. Needed: Two objects such as a knife and a spoon (but could be anything) or as many objects as people for the more complex variation Rules: The leader of the game starts by passing the first object to the person on their right and saying, "This is a whit." The reply is, "A What?" The leader would then clarify, "A whit." This question sequence continues around the circle but the question "A what?" is passed all the way back to the beginning and back again. This game can be confused by adding an additional object called a Watt in the opposite direction. Variation: In this version, you have a circle of however many people, and the same number of monosyllabic items (i.e. knife, spoon). Therefore if the circle has 10 people you need 10 items. One person, the leader, starts by choosing one object, let's say it is a spoon. He/she hands this object to the person on his right, and says: "This is a spoon." The person replies: "A What?" Leader: "A Spoon." Person: "Oh, A spoon!" The person then takes the spoon and hands it to the person on their right, now becoming the leader. At the same time, the original leader has picked up a new object, and has passed it on. The second person now must carry on two conversations at the same time, looking from one to the other. Here's an example: Leader: This is a spoon. Person #1: A What? Leader: A Spoon Person#1: A What? Leader: A Spoon Person #1: Oh! A Spoon Leader: This is a knife Person #1: This is a spoon Person #1: A What? Person #2: A What? Leader: A knife! Person #1: A Spoon Person #1: A What? Person #2: A What? Leader: A Knife! Person #1: A Spoon! Person r#1: Oh, a knife! Person #2: Oh, a spoon! etc. etc. This game is really fun, and it tends to get louder and louder as the more people play the game. we did this with a group of about 35 once, and it is so much fun. It can be really frustrating to learn, but it really is a blast! CHERRY GAME Objective: Eat a cherry from a bow filled with whipped cream. Categories: Adults, Teens, Couples, Singles Game type: Active. A lot of movement may be required. Players: 4 or more players Needed: Bowls Maraschino cherries Canned whipped cream Rules: Ask who at the party likes cherries. When you have several volunteers, place in front of each of them a maraschino cherry in a bowl. Explain that this will be a race to see who can eat their cherry first. They cannot use their hands. Just as they think this will be an easy game, you go around with a can of whipped cream and fill each bowl. Now you have a fun game. The winner is the first to find and eat the cherry. Have a camera handy! FUNNY FACE CONTEST Objective: This sound pretty dorky but actually it can be pretty funny. Try it out. Categories: Adults, Teens, Singles, New Years Game type: Passive. Little or no movement is required. Players: 2 or more players. Needed: Digital camera. Computer. Rules: Pull each of your guests aside one by one into a different and take their picture with the digital camera. Have them make a funny face and be sure to tell them there is a prize for the best face. After all the pictures have been taken, download them to your computer or laptop and have everyone gather around the monitor (or if you can burn a DVD and show them on your big screen TV this is even better). The winner will be judged on the greatest laughter. I NEVER Objective: A game of musical chairs triggered by things you have never done before. Categories: Groups, Adults, Teens, Ice Breakers, Couples, Singles Game type: Active. A lot of movement may be required. Players: 6 or more players. Needed: Chairs Rules: Put the group in a circle. There should be 1 less chair than people in the circle. Choose someone to stand in the circle. This person says, "I never..." then saying an action of something they have never done. For example, someone would say, "I never went to Hawaii." Then everyone who HAS gone to Hawaii gets up and finds a seat that is empty as fast as possible. The person left standing then goes to the middel and says, "I never..." and so forth. Play until you get tired of it. I NEVER DID THAT Objective: Each person in the group tells something they've never done both good or bad. If you've done it you give up a penny or jelly bean. Try to keep as many as possible. Categories: Adults, Teens, Ice Breakers, Couples, Christmas Game type: Passive. Little or no movement is required. Players: 6 or more players. Needed: Pennies or small objects such as jelly beans, Cherrios etc (10 or 15 for everyone) Rules: Each person receives several (10 or 15 is a good number) pennies, jellybeans or similar small objects. The group sits in a circle. Each person tells of something they have never done. Anyone who has done this must give the speaker one of their pennies or whatever. After going around the circle twice, the person with the most tokens wins. Caution: Often the women will choose items targeted at men (I've never shaved my face") and men at the women (I've never worn mascara). Therefore it is best to either ensure that the group sits with men and women alternated or to ask the group to avoid sex related statements and go with more generic statements. Examples: 1. I have never broken a bone 2. I have never traveled out of the country. 3. I have never eaten Thai food. 4. I have never changed a flat tire. 5. I have never worn high heels. 6. I have never seen the statue of liberty in person. 7. I have never been in jail. 8. I have never had wine. PRESIDENTS Objective: A card game where you try to get rid of your cards and move yourself into the head chair, often referred to as the King chair. Categories: Groups, Adults, Cards, Couples Game type: Passive. Little or no movement is required. Players: 4 to 8 players Needed: Standard deck of 52 cards Setup: This game is also called Scum or Kings and Serfs. Sit in a circular fashion, around a table is best. Label the chairs. The head chair should be label "President", the second chair is "VP", all other chairs are Managers and the lowest chair is labeled "Scum". Players draw cards to determine where they should sit. Aces are highest followed by kings and so on. Jokers don't count during the seating draw and the player should draw again. Players with the same rank (such as two 4's) are then ranked based on suit. Diamonds are highest, next hearts, then clubs and finally spades. Players then take their seats sitting in clockwise order. Dealing: If the group is big you can consider using two decks of cards. The Scum always deals the cards. All cards are dealt to all players equally. Any extra cards are dealt first to the Scum and then counterclockwise towards the president. For example, if there are 7 players, each player will get 7 cards with 5 left over. After the cards are dealt, the Scum must give the president his highest card and the president gives the Scum any card of his choosing. Then play begins. Round and hands: Play consists of hand and rounds. A round may consist of many hands and ends when all players have played all their cards. The president always leads the first hand of every round. From that point until the end of the round, each hand is lead by the winner of the previous hand. Rules of a hand: President is a game of tricks. Whoever leads begins by placing any single card or any set of cards of equal rank on the table. For example, you might play one king or 3 sevens etc. Play moves clockwise around the table. The next player must either pass or play the SAME number of cards of a higher rank. For example, if the lead player plays two 5's, the next player might play two 10's, the player after that might pass, and the player after that might play 2 aces and so on. Once the lead player has played their card or cards, the number if cards is frozen, in other words, if the lead player 2 of a certain rank, you cannot play three of a rank during your turn, you must play only two and save any additional cards of the same rank for another hand. Passing is always allowed and you are never forced to play cards even if you have cards which can be played. This is part of the strategy of the game. Ending the hand: The hand ends when someone plays and then everyone else passes. The Scum then gathers up the cards and puts them aside. The winner of the last hand leads the next hand and the game continues. Eventually players will run out of cards and go out for that round. You should keep track of the order in which players go out. If a player goes out, play continues to their left. If a player goes out and is the last player of the hand. The first person to their right who is still in the game leads. If there is no one to their left still in the game, then the first person to their left still in the game leads the next hand. Ending the round: Eventually after several hands, all players will be out of cards. The order in which they went out determines the seating order for the next round. The first to go out moves to the president's chair. The second out to the VP chair, the third out to the highest Manager chair and so on around. The last to go out is of course the Scum for the next round. The players should physically move to their new chairs. Then the next round begins and the Scum deals the cards again. Scoring: After each round players score points based on where they are sitting. The President scores 5 points, the VP 4 points, the highest Manager 3 points, the lowest Manager 1 point, all other middle Managers 2 points and the Scum gets 0 points. Scores are kept and tallied. First player to 25 points wins (or whatever value the group decides). Variations: Here are some variations which you can choose to employ if you wish: 1. Single hand method: Once someone leads a hand each player only gets one chance to play or pass. 2. No play after passing: Once someone passes they loose the privilege of playing cards throughout the rest of the hand. 3. Lowest card leads: During the first hand of the round, the lower cards of a given card leads. This can vary but is usually the two of clubs. 4. Have to play: Players can pass but only if they do not have cards to play. Otherwise they must play. 5. Playing more cards: In this version players can beat a previous players cards by playing a number of cards greater than the previous players. For example, if the previous player plays 2 kings, the next player can beat it by playing three 4s. This negates the rule that you can only play the same number of cards as those played by whoever lead the hand. 6. Equal plays: Players can play cards of equal rank (as opposed to having to beat the previous rank.) 7. Jokers high: Jokers can be used in the deck and treated as higher than an ace. A single joker can beat any set or number of cards or any rank and the player who follows the played joker can play anything he/she likes. The hand then continues from the new players cards. 8. Jokers wild: Jokers can treated as a replacement for any card. 9. Two high: In this version two are treated like jokers and are high card (but not wild) and can beat any set or number of card of any rank. 10. Twos and threes wild: Two and threes are treated as wild cards replacing any cards. Enter and leaving: Players can lead the game after any hand. All player shift towards the president. If a player joins, they must join at the beginning of a hand and enter as the Scum. Fixed seating: You can play where all players stay in the same seat and just the titles rotate. However, in this version their won't be a physically hierarchy order, only a logical one. Hats: A fun version is to use hats depending on the seats you sit in. Be creative. SHAVE THE BALLOON Objective: Shave a balloon with shaving cream all over it, but don't let it pop! Categories: Relay Race, Kids, Adults, Teens Game type: Passive. Little or no movement is required. Players: 2 or more players. Needed: Balloons, shaving cream, razors Rules: Divide into two teams. Blow up balloons for each players team and cover with shaving cream. Hang balloons from a string tied to an overhead pole etc. You can even draw faces on the balloons for fun. Play like a relay race with each team sending one player at a time to shave their balloon. Winning: Each completed balloon gets a point. Each popped balloon gets zero points. The most points wins! Do you have any good ideas for new events at the Summer Olympics?
I watched that Bob Costas-IOC president Jacques Rogge (Part III) interview today. With baseball and softball gone for various reasons, Rogge said the following sports are being considered for 2016: golf, rugby, roller sports (I guess they don't mean roller derby), squash, karate and women's boxing. Does anyone have better candidates? The IOC has a couple of criteria that I want to use for this discussion: 1) Played around the world and must be competitive among participating countries. Remember one reason softball was canceled because the USA was too dominant (until a few days ago) 2) Must be fairly cheap to build and manage, and have some use after the Olympics. This was baseball's downfall. Expensive to build a stadium which will not be used after the Olympics by the hosts (unless they love baseball). 3) Must have a women's events. I know people want American football, but there's no women's American football. The IOC wants more women's events. We can have some creative events. How about bowling? It's played around the world. Paintball? Ballroom dancing? We can have hip-hop dancing like MTV's America's Best Dance Crew. Or even cheerleading. Then we have all those X-Games like motocross, street luge and surfing.

The idea that the "U.S. dominates" is such a cop-out. Japan dominates judo, the U.S. dominated swimming, China is dominating diving, but we'd never get rid of those! I think cricket would have enough nations. Tug-of-war doesn't require a lot of equipment, so many nations could get in on this. Karate is a worldwide thing. Kickboxing could be fun. Rugby is mostly European, but the Americas have begun to play...

Would you rather have a boyfriend that's cool but has little time for you OR an average guy with much time 4u?
COOL BOYFRIEND: Appearance: Above-average face value, Tall and has a semi-macho athletic body because he works out in a gym; not so white skin, nice @ss (hip measurement is 36). Talents: Martial Arts (Aikido, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Western Boxing), Singing (Baritone voce range; usually sings pop and ballads), amateur Hosting, and occasional ramp modeling. Is even in a local talent organization/agency. Personality: Cocky and Funny on the same time. Sweet and likes cudding around. Romantic when it comes to special occasions dates. Somehow a smartass but in a funny way, sometimes. Basically, the usual cool guy with a magnetic personality and confidence to match. Languages: Fluent in english. Basic German and Spanish. Can speak in many accents (German, Irish, British, Russian, etc.) Sexual Prowess: Excellent in foreplay and knows many erogenous zones. Academic attainment: College level, 3rd year in International Studies. Finances: Still a student, but has a sum of money in a bank; has a VISA credit card. Has income from part-time modeling and hosting gigs and mall shows. Is bound to have an above-average income someday. Time for you: Only sees you about 4 to 5 times a month at max. He's pretty busy due to his extre-curricular activites. Faithfulness: Very Faithful. Flaw: Have some acne. Has a car (the car his parents gave him), but doesn't know how to drive it. Doesn't even know how to ride a bike, skateboard, or rollerblades. Mobile phone is a year 2004 model, so it sucks. AVERAGE BOYFRIEND: Appearance: Average face value (of all the ugliest, he's the most handsome), shorter than the cool boyfriend, thin, no ass, dark-skinned (not black; like a latino skin color, I guess). Talents: College varsity in Soccer. Plays Volleyball and excellent in billiards. Personality: Extremely funny, but in a bad boy way. Gives you gifts and food items a lot. Even cellphone load/credits. Languages: Not too fluent in english. Has an accent though. Sexual Prowess: Had sex with many different women in the past. All were cheap prostitutes though. Doesn't have STD anyways. Academic attainment: Double courser; graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering, and is now a 4th year in Agriculture. Finances: Manages a small farming business. After he graduates, his parents will give the property and ownership of the farm to him. So, he's bound to be rich someday....if his farming business doesn't go bankrupt. Also owns a drag racing car and an average motorbike. Time for you: Picks you up and escorts you home almost everyday. Texts and calls all the time, but not in an annoying sort of way. Faithfulness: Extremely Faithful. Flaw: Former drug addict and drug pusher. Has no sense of fashion at all. Hairstyle sucks. IF YOU WERE THE GIRL, who'd you pick and WHY and why did you NOT choose the other one? Please no "none of the above" answers.

How about, pick the one you have feelings for? Does all this stuff matter that much? Or are you just looking for a superficial relationship. If that is the case, go with the first one.

Good Web Hosting?
I want a good web hosting service. I want a website builder on this too. I need an FTP server. I also need a visual editor. I would like to have it require as little HTML as possible. I will be thrilled if none is required. I've been using Bravenet. It's alright. I had the premium service. It just wasn't very easy to manage, and it had their application logos everywhere. I want no host logos whatsoever. I want to be able to get a cheap domain name with this service. I would like it free, but I'm willing to spend a little dough if necessary. Tried Bravenet, I want something somewhat similar. THANKS!!!!!
